Crimson Hexagon has shared an in-depth look at gaming buzz on social media from E3. Between June 10 and June 12 – the key days of the expo – over 4.5 million posts were made across online channels. Nintendo was one of the conversation leaders.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate apparently wasn’t the most-discussed game, but it was certainly up there. Crimson Hexagon’s data has it at #2.

Here’s a look at the most discussed games at E3 and best received titles:

Nintendo Switch Online

Ever since the Wii era, Nintendo has offered classic games through the Virtual Console. Yet on Switch, the Virtual Console is dead as we know it. Nintendo still intends to have classics ready through Nintendo Switch Online, but at least initially, we’ll only be seeing NES games – albeit with extra bells and whistles like online features.

In an interview with IGN at E3, Nintendo of America president spoke about how Nintendo sees Nintendo Switch Online as somewhat of a Virtual Console successor. The company will make a slate of classics available, with the lineup expanding over time.

Update: Bumped to the top. Added in the patch notes below.

Original: The next big update for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has arrived. Version 1.5.0 is live, along with the Challenge Battle Mode for Expansion Pass owners.

Challenge Battle Mode “gives players many chances to test their skills, plenty of loot to earn, and some minor story elements that show the characters in a new light”. You’ll be taking on hordes of enemies in Waves to complete each challenge. Additionally, Shulk and Fiora from the first Xenoblade Chronicles join the fight as Blades.

We’ll bring you the full patch notes for today’s update as soon as we have them.
