Some Pokemon X/Y players have encountered a glitch after saving in certain areas outside of Lumiose City. The bug, which results in game freezing, affects both the physical and digital versions of the game.
One user described the issue over at GameFAQs:
I saved near a cab in Lumiose City and now whenever I try to restart my game it immediately freeezes. It loads my trainer and all of my clothes as well as the buildings and their lighting effects, but none of the objects in the streets or the textures on the buildings show up.
Pokémon-Amie is also frozen on my bottom-screen without loading anything and the game won’t return to the Home menu when I push my button. I can hard-shutoff, but the 3DS internal software is completely frozen.
Apparently, one solution involves removing the SD card, and then starting up X/Y normally. It’s not clear if this is a universal glitch, but perhaps Game Freak/Nintendo will consider releasing a patch if reports become more widespread.
ONM has already received a review copy of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and has shared lots of details about the game after playing the first four hours.
New information is as follows:
– Yuga appears and turns local sage Ceres into a painting
– He then takes down Link, who was delivering a sword to the captain of the palace guard
– Yuga is connected to Ganon
– Yuga is trying to gather the seven sages in order to free him from his magical prison
– Majora’s Mask is on the wall of your house
– Potions are now made by witches but can only be brewed if you you track down the right ingredients
– Some enemies drop particular items such as Monster Guts
– Will need a set number of these in order to get specific potions
– Button assignments aren’t immediately available
– Start off the game by assigning an item to “Y”
– You’ll find the Pouch later
– This lets you assign an item to the X button as well
– Hint Glasses is one of the first items you find
– Use the glasses to see Hint Ghosts (and possibly other hidden doorways)
– Ghosts demand payment before giving you hints
The full extent of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y’s sales is not yet known, but they’ve clearly gotten off to a fantastic start in the UK.
For the week ending October 12, both games took the top two spots in the individual formats category, and spots three/four in the all formats group. According to tracker Chart-Track, sales of Pokemon X/Y have doubled up on Black 2/White 2’s opening week.
I imagine we’ll be hearing more positive news about Pokemon X/Y’s sales in the coming days.
Kotaku has a mix of comments from Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma pulled from his session at the New York Comic Con and a follow-up interview. Kotaku also followed up with Aonuma about the Majora’s Mask connection in Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
