n-Space, known for games such as Geist and Heroes of Ruin, seems to be involved with Wii U.

At the moment, n-Space doesn’t have any announced projects in development for the platform. But lead engineer Justin Hare lists on his LinkedIn profile: “Ported large parts of nSpace engine tech to Wii-U”.

n-Space worked on quite a few Wii games, so it wouldn’t be too surprising so see them make the jump to Wii U. It’d be pretty neat if the studio revived Winter for the system!

We typically don’t post this kind of content on NE, but it’s so bizarre that I’d be doing a disservice if I didn’t share this with you all:

When Shin Megami Tensei IV launches in North America, players will be able to access a number of DLC items. Atlus shared details on some of the content coming to the game the next month, such as:

  • Three custom looks will be available for the protagonist to alter his look by changing hairstyles. These DLC items will be permanently free for anyone to download.
  • In addition to fighting in style, there will be a beneficial armor item free for the first month. The Platinum Surcoat Set offers a little bonus to stats in the early stages of the game, and will help players new to the franchise keep the upper hand. The armor will be available for free for the first month after SMT IV’s launch on July 16. After the first month, the price of the armor set will revert to $1 permanently.
  • There will also be a map pack available at launch to help players gain more experience. Suitable for the early stages of the game, the new maps will help players gain extra experience to boost their characters with enemies and a collectible demon exclusive to the DLC. The map pack will be $2 at launch.

Atlus will announce additional DLC items closer to launch.

You heard that right: The greatest fighting-game franchise ever to grace consoles just might be returning, despite being dead for nearly 20 years. Siliconera was doing some digging around and discovered four trademarks for “Shaq Fu” registered by the same folks (“Mine O’Mine”) who registered “Shaqfighter” back in May.

Could this mean the return of Shaq to gaming? Or perhaps we’ll see a 20-year anniversary edition of the game?

The series known as Retro Game Challenge in the west (though only one title was released over here) is getting a new entry on 3DS, courtesy of G.rev, the developer behind multiple Japanese, arcade-style shooters. The game will take its Japanese title, “Game Center CX” (based on a popular Japanese TV show), and will probably follow in the same vein as its predecessors, with multiple, old-school-styled games that players have to play through.

No other details are available at this time.
