Posted 11 years ago by in News, Wii, Wii U | 0 comments

It’s the E3 2013 megaton we’ve been waiting for: a new Just Dance game.

Just Dance 2014 will be the next entry in Ubisoft’s long-running casual series. A now-removed listing on Xbox.com leaked the game’s existence, offering up the following description:

The latest opus of the Just Dance franchise will make you dance even more and will be once again the ultimate casual rendezvous of the year. This new opus will be even more social as you will be able to connect and dance with players from all over the world and share a unique dancing experience with them. It becomes the party expert and features today iconic pop culture references. New modes will be available, letting you and your friends experience parties the way only Just Dance knows how!

Expect an official announcement during Ubisoft’s E3 2013 press conference later today.

It’s amazing how a situation can turn around in the span of a generation. Whereas developers were constantly down on Nintendo’s handling of WiiWare, praise couldn’t be higher when it comes to the eShop.

Capybara Games’ Nathan Vella is the latest to speak positively about Nintendo’s approach to indies. Vella told VG247 that the company is ” making a big move to try and get smaller, unique, independent games on Wii U downloadable.” Vella also spoke highly of Dan Edelman who is essentially in charge of all things downloadable at Nintendo of America.

Vella said:

“I’ve seen personally, first-hand, Nintendo making a big move to try and get smaller, unique, independent games on Wii U downloadable. They have a really great team there; Dan Edelman who runs that division is one of the raddest dudes in video games, and I would say easily one of the most respected people by the independent community. Nintendo is reaching out and trying to do something. They’re playing catch up, obviously, and that’s a hard spot to be in when it comes to getting the new stuff, but they’re really putting in.”

Can this “12-bit” platformer still stack up now that it’s in HD?

System: Nintendo Wii U
Release Date: June 13th, 2013
Developer: Renegade Kid
Publisher: Renegade Kid

Author: Austin

There was something exceptionally captivating about Mutant Mudds when it released on 3DS back in January of 2012. I think, for me, the combination of slower-paced platforming and old school difficulty that Renegade Kid created scratched an itch that few games do, so naturally I was quite pleased upon hearing the announcement of an HD re-release for Max and his muddy rivals on Wii U.

It has been a long and arduous wait (the game was meant to hit Wii U much closer to launch after all), but I’ve finally got my hands on all 80 levels of Mutant Mudds Deluxe and I must report: It’s every bit as good as you’d think.

What better way is there to start a Nintendo conference than with a live Zelda performance? That’s exactly what attendees were treated to in 2011. A full-blown orchestra performed a medley of tunes from the Zelda series, capped off with new footage from Skyward Sword.

A series of Zelda announcements followed: Link’s Awakening 3DS VC release that very day, Four Swords for DSiWare, Skyward Sword’s gold Wiimote, symphony concerts, and music CDs.

The 3DS received the spotlight next. Nintendo unveiled new trailers for Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. Time was also taken to highlight Star Fox 64 3D.

What followed was all Wii U – the system’s name, GamePad reveal, overview trailer, and games. The very mention of Smash Bros. earned a huge reaction.

And who can forget how Nintendo closed its conference? With now-former EA CEO John Riccitiello coming on stage to announce the publisher’s “unprecedented partnership” with Nintendo. Oh how quickly things can change…
