Accessibility has become a more prominent topic in the gaming industry, and we’ve seen Microsoft in particular make a push with initiatives like its adaptive controller. Interestingly, there were plans – at least at one point – for a new kind of controller that would work across Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation hardware.

Former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime shared that news in an interview with Inverse. He said the Xbox adaptive controller was being used “as a jumping-off point to create something that would be platform-agnostic and adaptable by any consumer.” The Nintendo / Xbox / PlayStation controller was happening three years ago, though Reggie isn’t sure if it’s still in development.

Red Art Games today pulled back the curtain on its latest physical release for Switch, with Metaloid Origin now getting the boxed treatment.

2,900 copies will be made available in total in Europe through Red Art Games. North American copies will be released on December 9 for $29.99 via Video Games Plus, Red Art Games’ stateside partner.

We’ve got another character trailer for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, with Scarlet Witch now receiving the focus. Also known as Wanda Maximoff, she’s able to use reality-altering chaos magic.

Nintendo has started to face some controversy with its employees this year. First 4 Figures has revealed yet another statue based on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, this time featuring a pose of Link riding on horseback.

“His ensemble which includes his Champion’s Tunic and Hylian Trousers has been realistically textured in gorgeous detail, much like his steed and other elements of this intricate statue,” First 4 Figures says. “Link’s items such as the rucksack, Traveler’s Shield and most importantly, his Sheikah Slate, are also included in incredible detail.” Over on the base, it has stone symbols engraved along the side and vines wrapping around the stone.

SEGA announced its lineup for Gamescom 2022 today, which includes the first public hands-on opportunity for Sonic Frontiers.

The demo will let fans explore Starfall Island. It will not only be playable at the SEGA booth, but also at TikTok’s stand in Hall 7 where Sonic Team boss Takashi Iizuka will be making a guest appearance on Friday 26 August for a meet and greet with fans. A new trailer for the game will debut next Tuesday during Gamescom: Opening Night Live.

Fox n Forests developer Bonus Level Entertainment today revealed Saga of Sins, an unholy action adventure game. Just For Games will be publishing it on Switch in 2023.

Square Enix will release Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection for Switch on September 27, the company announced today.

The package contains Life is Strange Remastered and Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered. It will feature every update, and optimized for Switch. This was previously known as simply Life is Strange Remastered Collection.
