LEGO City Undercover was a pretty big deal when it first appeared on Wii U close to a decade ago. It was planned as one of the system’s first major games, and was even published by Nintendo.

In a recent episode of the Bits N’ Bricks podcast, lead animator Matt Palmer and LEGO Group producer Darryl Kelley spoke in-depth about LEGO City Undercover’s creation. We also get to hear about Nintendo’s role. According to Kelley, the company was “very, very involved” – including development itself.

Below are Plamer and Kelley’s full words:

HAL Laboratory’s Shinya Kumazaki opened up about the making of Kirby Star Allies in a recently-released art book for the game. Kumazaki discussed when development began (planning was actually before the launch of Planet Robobot), the previous absence of Kirby side-scrollers on consoles, and more.

We’re still a few years off from Super Nintendo World opening at Universal Studios Hollywood, but fans can at least pick up some sought after items from the theme park. For a limited time, merchandise is being offered at the Universal Studio Store.

Some of the items include plushies, shirts, and bags. We have more photos from the official Universal Studios Twitter account and user Kevin_Castro22 below.

Yesterday, Nintendo kicked off a new Multiplayer Mayhem Sale on the Switch eShop. Retailers have price-matched some of the prices. We’re highlighting GameStop in particular here as the retailer is giving an extra discount.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition is one example, as it’s available for $29.39 as opposed to $41.39. The same goes for Fire Emblem Warriors and Super Mario Party. With Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion, you can get it for $9.79 as opposed to $13.99. Note that this shows in your cart and not on the product page.

You can check out all of the discounts here. We’d advise being quick if you’re interested, as it’s unclear how long this will last.
