Velocity 2X

FuturLab wants to release a sequel to Velocity 2X. The only problem? Publishers aren’t yet convinced that it would be a commercial success. That’s why the studio sent out word today that the sequel will only happen if Velocity 2X does well when it arrives soon on Switch.

FuturLab has actually been working on the new project “for years”. It would be a “bells and whistles sequel” under the name Velocity Supernova.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

While it may not come as much of a surprise, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will not be launching this year. A new Kickstarter update reveals a new scheduled release window of 2019.

Regarding the delay, the Kickstarter post states that the extra time will be used to “raise the quality level, especially after all the very valuable feedback from the Beta Backer Demo.”

Pokemon GO

At Pokemon GO Fest in Chicago, The Guardian was able to speak with Niantic CEO John Hanke. Hanke discussed the current status of the game, among other topics.

Reflecting on how far Pokemon GO has come since its launch two years ago, Hanke said that the mobile title has a “thriving, strong user base of people that are not here for the fad, but because they love the core values of the game.” He said:

Later today, you’ll be able to play Cosmoscope’s shooter Morphies Law when it launches on the Switch eShop. We have the launch trailer below.

Beat Cop

11 bit Studios had This War of Mine, Moonlighter, and Children of Morta featured in today’s Indie Highlights presentation. But the company actually has a fourth title lined up for Switch: Beat Cop.

Beat Cop, a retro, pixel art style adventure set in New York City and inspired by 80’s cop shows, has players taking on the role of Jack Kelly. After being framed for murder, you’ll need to find out who set you up.

Microids today detailed its upcoming slate of games for Switch. Syberia 3 and Moto Racer 4 are both due out by the end of the year, with The Bluecoats: North vs South to follow as a digital release in the first half of 2019.

Button Button

Another week, another Circle Entertainment Switch reveal. The company today announced that it will be publishing Button Button, a platformer planned for the eShop. Centrosphere Games is developing the title.

Original: Death’s Gambit is heading to Switch, according to a Variety report. White Rabbit and Adult Swim Games will be working with Skybound Games on the release.

Death’s Gambit is a 2D action platformer with deep RPG elements. Find more details and a trailer below.

Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight is only available as a digital download at present. But next year, that’ll be changing thanks to a new partnership between Team Cherry and Skybound Games.

Announced today, Hollow Knight will have a physical version on Switch in Spring 2019. Skybound Games will be distributing the title.
