Niantic posted an update to its blog today recapping activity from the summer. Of course, the company provided an update on Pokemon GO here.

Pokemon GO did well this summer, as activity was up 35% since May. Niantic further says that since social features were added at the end of June, over 113 million friend connections have been made and 2.2 billion gifts have been sent to friends.

Work continues on Pokemon GO. This fall, Niantic says there will be “surprises” on the way “to give Trainers even more ways to play together.”

Planet Entertainment has announced that the FarSight Studios-developed Party Arcade is making its way to Switch next month. The package features popular party games and acts as a sequel to the Game Party franchise that originally appeared on Wii.

Devolver Digital will be publishing yet another game on Switch very soon. Reigns: Kings & Queens, comprised of both games Reigns and Reign: Her Majesty, arrives via the eShop on September 20.

When a Switch game updates, we sometimes see that video capture has been added. Fortnite has gone in the opposite direction. With the latest patch, players have started to notice that video capture has been disabled entirely.

When attempting to record a video clip, a message will appear stating that “Videos cannot be captured for this software.” This affects all areas in Fortnite.

It’s unclear if video capture has been permanently disabled or is a temporary measure. It may have been done in order to improvement performance on Switch.

Exorder is coming to Switch, Fat Dog Games and Solid9 Studio announced today. A release is planned for September 27.

Exorder, which will feature cross-platform play with the PC version, is a fantasy turn-based tactical RPG. We have further information about the title below, along with a trailer.

Last Wednesday, a Nintendo Direct was announced that would be airing the following day. However, due to an earthquake in Japan, the presentation was pushed back to an unspecified date.

We’ve been waiting on a new date for that presentation since then. There’s been some chatter about the Nintendo Direct airing this Thursday instead, in large part because of some information datamined from Splatoon 2. This is now being backed up by a report that Nintendo Life who has heard similarly from “trusted sources”.

Fortnite’s latest content update is now live. Version 5.40 is highlighted by the addition of new Assault Rifle in Battle Royale.

Moonlighter is one step closer to launching on Switch, as 11 bit studios announced a release month today. We can expect to see the action RPG with roguelike elements in November.

Moonlighter will be hitting Switch both physically and digitally. Look for both versions to arrive at the same time.
