Switch has reached another major milestone. Based on the latest information provided by NPD, Nintendo has confirmed that its console is now the fastest-selling home gaming system ever in Canada.

Pierre-Paul Trepanier, Nintendo of Canada’s general manager and senior director, said in a statement today:

“The response that the Nintendo Switch has received from Canadians has been nothing short of spectacular. We’re thrilled to have seen such record-breaking momentum in 2017.”

Nintendo announced earlier this month that Switch had become the fastest-selling home video game system of all time in the U.S. as well. Over 4.8 million units have been sold in the country since launch.

High Horse Entertainment has officially announced that Disc Jam is hitting Switch on February 8. It’ll have some new features, too.

On Switch, Disc Jam will offer cross-platform play with the PC version. Local wireless with up to three other nearby systems is also supported.

The Switch release will also be accompanied by an update for other platforms comprised of new features and content, which should be included on Nintendo’s console. Find all of the relevant information and a Switch teaser below.

Space Dave! is coming to Switch next week, Choice Provisions announced today. A release is planned for January 25 via the eShop.

Bigben recently confirmed that Aqua Moto Racing Utopia will be coming to Switch in North America next month. Zordix’s other racer, Snow Moto Racing Freedom, will also be out in February.

Snow Moto Racing Freedom will be distributed physically and digitally. Pricing is set at $39.99.

As is the case in New York City and San Francisco, Nintendo UK will be hosting a few hands-on events for Nintendo Labo next month. It will be on display between February 14 and February 17 in South Kensington, London.

You can register your interest here. Keep in mind that you’ll need to do so by February 1.

Nintendo Labo’s US pricing was confirmed shortly after yesterday’s reveal. As for the UK, Nintendo’s own store provides that information.

The Variety Kit and Robot Kit will cost £59.99 and £69.99 respectively. For the Customization Set, you’ll need to fork over another £8.99.

The Pokemon Company has announced plans to celebrate a legendary year in 2018 with some of the most sought-after Pokemon yet discovered. Between February and November, Legendary Pokemon will be featured across the franchise, including monthly distributions for Pokemon Sun/Moon/Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon.

Around 20 Pokemon in total will be distributed. While we’re still waiting on specifics, we have the schedule of which creature will be appearing in each month below.

With the eShop updating today, it gives us a look at Hamster’s next releases on Switch. The company is preparing two more classics for January 25.

First up, the NeoGeo game World of Heroes 2 will be available. Here’s a brief overview:

World Heroes 2 is a fighting game released by SNK in 1993. Players are able to take part in epic battles between 14 historic figures such as Hanzo Hattori and Jeanne. Players can enjoy numerous battle strategies via the simple but deep game system featuring mechanics such as “Throw Back” and “Projectile Bounce Back”.

Update (1/18): Unfortunately, IGN France’s information was correct, and the site has now posted a retraction. Contrary to its first report, you will not be able to receive the cardboard patterns for free.


Original (1/17): IGN France appears to have a bit of additional information about Nintendo Labo. According to the site’s report, “the kits will not be mandatory – although the cartridge is needed – since Nintendo plans to offer the cardboard design pattern for free for aspiring builders”.

Nintendo Labo will be starting out with the Variety Kit and Robot Kit on April 20. A Customization Set will also be sold that includes fun stencils, stickers, and colored tape.
