It was nearly a week ago that Walmart took pre-orders for the Super NES Classic – or so we thought. The retailer ended up pulling the plug on reservations a few days ago.
In an email sent to customers, Walmart said that pre-orders went up “due to a technical glitch”. That’s fine and all, but those who thought they were lucky enough to score the system were dissatisfied that their orders were cancelled.

The NES Classic Edition is back at Amazon – sort of. For those in select cities, the retailer is selling the system for the original $60 price point at its Treasure Truck daily-deals program.
Treasure Trucks can be found in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Customers can place orders for the NES Classic Edition through the Amazon app and schedule a pick up time at a Treasure Truck. If you happen to be located in one of these cities, you can take advantage between 11 AM and 5 PM local time, or until product sells out.

It’s been a five year wait for the next Dragon Quest title. The wait has been even longer for a new single-player focused game. And so Japan no doubt treated the release of Dragon Quest XI as an important event. You can see a few photos from the launch below.
