A Switch version of Night Trap hasn’t come to fruition thus far. Nintendo was apparently open to the idea, but quickly shut the door soon after the go-ahead was given.
Enter Nicalis, one of the premiere third-party publishers on Switch out of the gate. Company boss Tyrone Rodriguez has expressed interest in working with Screaming Villains to bring Night Trap to Switch. It’ll probably take some time for the project to come to fruition – if it even happens at all – but this is a hopeful first step.
#NightTrap is sold out, congratulations. How about a #NintendoSwitch physical version? @screamingvill
Let's do it.— Tyrone Rodriguez (@tyronerodriguez) August 12, 2017
I'd love to get it on Switch and really want to but they declined.

Earlier today, Nicalis tweeted out a brief GIF showing Quote of Cave Story fame in a new 3D model. The idea here is that the model is being used for something, though we’re not quite sure what it is yet.

We all know about Cave Story’s ties to Nintendo platforms. This may not be for a new game, but it could still be game-related. Some folks are speculating that the model will be used for Brawlout, which has indie characters and was announced for Switch last week. We’ll just have to wait and see…
Switch restocks are starting to become a slightly more regular occurrence. At GameStop, you’ll have another chance to pick up a system starting tomorrow. This will be the first time that all of the retailer’s stores will have units on hand since the March 3 launch.
Thankfully, you can walk right in to GameStop and purchase a Switch without any extra games or add-ons – it will be the standard system for $300. However, bundles will also be offered online.
Pan-Pan is making its way to Switch, a listing on the eShop reveals.
Spelkraft originally developed Pan-Pan, which debuted on Steam last year. It’s an adventure-exploration game with puzzles and more.
Here’s a comprehensive overview:
Update (8/14): The Rayman Legends Definitive Edition demo is now live in North America.
Original (8/13): A demo for Rayman Legends Definitive Edition popped up on the European Switch eShop last month. However, it went live a bit early. Ubisoft intended to officially launch the download on August 14.
In Europe, the demo has now returned. You can find it by accessing the Rayman Legends Definitive Edition page in the “Coming Soon” section of the eShop.
The same demo will be available on Monday in North America as well. We’ll keep you updated when it’s live.

Which Pokemon games were the most challenging to make? When Game Informer posed that question to Game Freak co-founder and Pokemon director / producer Junichi Masuda, he referred to Ruby and Sapphire.
Masuda first told the magazine:
“With Ruby and Sapphire, the screen got a little longer and it was a different aspect ratio, a lot more colors and sound channels so the tech was improved dramatically. It allowed us to do a lot more and gave us more freedom, but at the same time it made it take a lot longer to do things and was more resource-intensive.”
“After Gold and Silver came out, it was a huge hit around the world, but shortly after everyone was saying, ‘That’s it. The Pokémon fad is over! It’s dead!’ It was a very stressful project, for sure. When we were first developing it, I had the idea in mind that it would be Ruby and Sapphire, and then the next games, including the titles, would be Diamond and Pearl, and in between we would do the remakes, FireRed and LeafGreen, so we could create this structure where you could take the Pokémon from the Kanto region to the Diamond and Pearl games.”
Several new Sonic Mania videos are in showing some rather interesting things. Below you’ll find gameplay of a boss fight, an Easter egg involving the SEGA Genesis, and a special secret mode.
