Nintendo has been in the mobile game market for a while now and has released several games, with more on the way. According to the Wall Street Journal, one of Nintendo’s next mobile games will be one based on The Legend of Zelda. Supposedly, “people familiar with the matter” said that a Zelda mobile game would be released sometime after the Animal Crossing mobile game, which is apparently being released in the latter half of 2017, although the release timing and release order could still change. Neither Nintendo nor DeNA commented on the matter.

That’s not all, though – according to the Wall Street Journal, The Pokemon Company is planning to release a new Pokemon Trading Card Game app on mobile devices. This is peculiar since a Pokemon TCG app already exists and can be played on mobile games – Pokemon TCG Online has been around for a while and is still supported to this day.

As always, takes rumors like this with a grain of salt. While the WSJ is usually fairly reliable when it comes to their sources and a Zelda mobile game isn’t exactly a far-fetched idea, this is far from an official confirmation. Thankfully, E3 is right around the corner, so we might hear more about either of these rumored games in a couple of weeks.

A bit of off-screen Super Mario Odyssey footage has been making the rounds today. It doesn’t show true gameplay, but it does provide a look at a couple of areas in the game. What’s funny about this discovery is that the footage was actually shown during the Nintendo Switch Experience in Japan from January, but is only just being noticed now. In any case, watch the video below.

This summer, Capcom is introducing a big update for Monster Hunter Stories in Japan. It’ll add new Otomon, character customization options, and more. Capcom has a trailer out for the update, which we’ve posted below.

All sorts of information has been coming out about ARMS from this month’s issue of EDGE. Another tidbit previously unknown is that the game features items that appear each round. One powers up your super, one heals you, and another is a time bomb that you and your opponent can hand off back and forth with punches until it explodes, similar to a game of hot potato.

We did actually get a look at items during the most recent Nintendo Direct, but it went largely unnoticed. Pictured above, when you punch the drone, the item is dropped.

Keep in mind that items aren’t mandatory. You can turn them off in the options menu if you’d rather play a more traditional match.

When you take your Switch unit out of the box for the first time, you expect it to be entirely new. Yet one user found the screenshot above on the system when starting it up following the initial boot.

It’s thought that the image is from a quality check program not typically made available to consumers. Perhaps the person operating this Switch unit accidentally pressed the screenshot button, or forgot to delete the photo during the testing process. In any case, it’s not something that you generally see, so it’s pretty interesting to see this pop up.
