This year’s Game Developers Conference has come and gone, but next year’s event is already in sight. GDC 2018 will be back at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on March 19 to March 23.

26,000 attendees were present at GDC 2017. That’s down just slightly from 27,000 the previous year. GDC 2017 had 500 lectures, panels, tutorials and roundtable discussions, along with 570 companies in the expo hall.

Much has been made of Rime’s price on Switch. Unfortunately, you’ll have to pay $10 / £10 extra for the game on Nintendo’s console in comparison to other versions of the game.

So what’s going on here? Well, Eurogamer reports that it comes down to how “the cost of manufacturing a Nintendo Switch game is higher than the cost of making a PS4, PC or Xbox One game, because the cartridges the Switch uses cost more to make than Blu-ray discs.”

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a must-have game on Switch. If there’s one thing to criticize though, it’d be the game’s technical performance. Specifically, Breath of the Wild sometimes experiences frame rate drops. Some players have even experienced the screen freezing for a second or two.

Zelda isn’t actually the only game with frame rate issues. FAST RMX and I Am Setsuna both have problems with resolution drops and frame rate fluctuations respectively. However, an anonymous third-party developer has told Nintendo Life that the situation is resulting from a known issue with Switch’s Wi-Fi connection which places additional load on the processor.

One of the site’s readers, JunkRabbit, also provides the following explanation:

Nintendo is readying a special video event that will give fans insight into the creation of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Tomorrow, a three-part series will debut for the game. It’ll air at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 1 PM in the UK / 2 PM in Europe.

Capcom released the opening movie and collaboration trailer for Hunter x Hunter today. The former one is below, while the other is after the break due to potential spoilers relating to the anime / manga.

LEGO Worlds was released on other platforms last week, but the Switch version doesn’t have a concrete release date yet. The reason for that might be the fact that development on the Switch version only started very recently. Here’s what Chris Rose, the associate producer of the game, had to say about the Switch version:

“We decided to make this version on January. We were looking at the development of LEGO City Undercover, so we asked the team ‘How are you going with that?’ and the answer was truly positive, testers were very happy with it. Then, we said: ‘Ok, let’s try it [bringing LEGO Worlds to Switch]’, we started to do programming things and testing some optimizations for the graphics engine. This started like three weeks ago, on February. We think that having a portable version of the game is something really interesting, so we went for that.”
