First, a Nintendo Spotlight: E3 2017 video presentation will be hosted at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET on June 13. tinyBuild has been hard at work on a patch for Mr. Shifty. Once released, it should improve the game’s performance – specifically frame rate. The team was hoping to have it ready this week, but it’s taking a bit longer than expected.
tinyBuild CEO Alex Nichiporchik said today that the “patch is simply too big. This is because the Unity plugin we’re using for export is brand new, and tends to package in a bit too many unnecessary information, bloating the size.” tinyBuild is now working with Unity to address this as well as reduce the overall size of Mr. Shifty on Switch.
When we have more news to report about the patch, we’ll let you know.
This month’s CoroCoro has started to leak. There’s nothing in the way of a game reveal, but the magazine does tease some interesting news. For the following magazine slated for June 15, some shocking information will be revealed regarding Marshadow. One theory is that news will be shared about Marshadow’s signature Z-Move.
Marshadow was officially unveiled for Pokemon Sun / Moon last month. The creature can’t be obtained through normal means as of now, though more information will be shared in the future.
Some unfortunate news for you Australians out there: There has been a bit of controversy recently over the price of the Switch version of Rime, which was initially announced as costing more than other versions of the game. Yesterday, publisher Grey Box announced that the digital Switch version of the game is now going to cost $29.99 / €34.99 / £29.99 instead of $39.99 / €44.99 / £39.99 in North America, Europe and the UK, respectively, while the physical versions will remain at the higher price point, but come with a download code for the game’s soundtrack.
Vooks inquired about the situation in the Australian market – and as it turns out, the digital version is not getting a price drop there. Both the digital and the physical version will cost $79.95AU. Like in other regions, however, the physical version will come with a download code for the soundtrack.
Luckily the Switch is region free, so Australians can just access another region’s eShop and download the game there at a lower price point.
The most recent issue of Weekly Jump magazine has introduced another new Dragon Quest XI feature – monster mounts. When defeating certain monsters in battle, you will occasionally be able to mount them. This will give you the ability to overcome various obstacles in the world and reach places you couldn’t get to on your own. Here are some examples of mounts and what you can do with them:
Dragon Rider: By riding this flying mount, you can obviously get to places you couldn’t reach on foot.
Skull Rider: You can climb up cliffs and dungeon walls using this mount.
Other than these familiar faces, there are also brand new monsters that you can ride:
Pearl Mobile: A mysterious machine that looks to be made out of a kind of metal resembling pearls. Riding it lets you leap to high places.
Bee Rider: An elite Ocobolt soldier riding a giant bee. By riding one yourself, it will allow you to cross lakes by simply flying over them.
If you log in to Fire Emblem Heroes today, you can claim 10 Orbs and 5,000 Hero Feathers as a special bonus. This is a reward for player participation in the recent (Japanese-only) omikuji event.
Only a couple of days after the reveal of Ribbon Ring, we’ve already got news of the next brand new ARMS stage: Scrap Yard. This, well, scrap yard features destructible iron pipes:
