All sorts of situations have sprung up since the release of Pokemon GO. Some have been uplifting and great to hear about, but on the other end of the spectrum, some have been dangerous.

One of the bigger stories to have emerged over the past few days concerns muggings. There are folks out there who have used Pokemon GO and its Lures – an item that makes Pokemon more likely to appear in a particular location – in hopes of attracting victims.

The Pokemon Company and developer Niantic provided GamesBeat with the following joint statement in light of the recent news:

“We are aware that some incidents have occurred involving fans playing Pokémon Go. We encourage all people playing Pokémon Go to be aware of their surroundings and to play with friends when going to new or unfamiliar places. Please remember to be safe and alert at all times. We are humbled by the overwhelmingly positive response to Pokémon Go and greatly appreciate the support of our fans.”

Defend Your Crypt won’t require much space when it arrives in North America and Europe next Thursday. On Wii U, the download is just 46MB. The 3DS version needs 56 blocks of free space, or 7MB.

App-market intelligence firm Sensor Tower has indicated that Pokemon GO has been downloaded roughly 7.5 million times in the United States since it landed on iOS and Android devices last week.

Sensor Tower also estimates that Pokemon GO is collecting $1.6 million in revenue in the U.S. alone… just on iOS. Android isn’t included in the figure.

SuperData Research analyst Joost van Dreunen had this to say about Pokemon GO’s performance thus far:

“Pokémon Go as so far managed to generate $14.04 million across mobile platforms since its release. [This puts] it ahead of other titles using the franchise, including Pokémon Shuffle Mobile which has earned an estimated $14.03 million since its release in August 2015.”

Kerbal Space Program is starting to make its way to consoles, but the Wii U version is taking a bit longer than expected. Squad announced today that the game will be available this winter on the eShop.

For those who haven’t heard about Kerbal Space Program before, here’s what it’s all about:

Create your own spacecraft, launch it into space to explore the galaxy, and visit a vast amount of planets; assuming you can get it off the ground! Once you’ve made it to deep space, KSP lets you capture asteroids, launch mining programs to find resources across the furthest reaches of the solar system and build space stations around planets you discover.

Kerbal Space Program offers three game modes:

– In Sandbox, where you’re free to build anything your imagination can come up with;
– Science Mode lets you perform scientific experiments and advance the knowledge of Kerbals to unlock new technologies;
– Career Mode, places you in control of every aspect of the space program including crew management, reputation building, as well as embarking on side missions called ‘contracts’ to earn funds and upgrade your space center facilities.

Kerbal Space Program was confirmed for Wii U last August. When it does hit Nintendo’s console, the game will let players control their ship from the inside with the GamePad. Flight planning on the fly can be done with touchscreen controls, and the ship can be steered with gyro motion controls.
