Happy Miitomo launch day, everyone! While the game will be released in the West at some point today, it’s been available in Japan for a couple of weeks now. Today, Nintendo released a new TV commercial for Miitomo, which I think captures the spirit of it pretty well. Check it out below:

Nintendo has released a statement in light of today’s news about the firing of Treehouse employee Alison Rapp.

It reads in full:

“Alison Rapp was terminated due to violation of an internal company policy involving holding a second job in conflict with Nintendo’s corporate culture. Though Ms. Rapp’s termination follows her being the subject of criticism from certain groups via social media several weeks ago, the two are absolutely not related. Nintendo is a company committed to fostering inclusion and diversity in both our company and the broader video game industry and we firmly reject the harassment of individuals based on gender, race or personal beliefs. We wish Ms. Rapp well in her future endeavors.”

I closed the thread in our original post from earlier today. After a couple of minutes of the news being added to the site, some derogatory and hurtful comments were being thrown around. I’ll see how things go with this post, though anything out of line will be removed. We welcome all discussion here, but please remember be respectful of others.

Mario Party 2 just recently landed on the Japanese Wii U Virtual Console. Take a look at a few minutes of footage below.

We’ve covered the departure of Nintendo employees in the past. We now have news about another staffer leaving the company – specifically from the Treehouse – following an unfortunate situation that has developed over the last few months.

Rapp confirmed that her employment was terminated by Nintendo on Twitter today:

I’m not going to go into any of the specifics, though you can find a bit more on things by visiting Alison’s Twitter page here. You never like to hear about someone losing a job, so I wish her the best of luck in the future.

A pair of 3DS games have been discounted on GameStop. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. can be had for just $10 while the Chibi-Robo: Zip-Lash amiibo bundle is down to $20. Both are pretty fair prices, I’d say!

n-Space, a developer with over 20 years of game developing experience, is shutting down.

The news was originally passed along by artist Ben Leary. He shared the following on Twitter yesterday:

n-Space hasn’t done too much with Nintendo platforms as of late, but the company’s work can be seen across several Nintendo platforms. The studio teamed up with the Big N on Geist, created the Call of Duty games on DS, made Heroes of Ruin on 3DS, and more.
