We’re kicking off something very, very exciting on Nintendo Everything today. That’s right – as the title says, we’re starting our own line of comics!

Comics are something we’ve tinkered around before (years ago), but only in extremely early stages. We’ve also never had anything materialize from early discussions until now.

For Nintendo Everything’s official comics, we’ve teamed up with Don O’Herlihy who runs Wind-up Dog Animation. Don approached me about working together last year, though it wasn’t until recently that we began putting our plan into action.

It’s true that there are a lot of web comics out there. That being said, I felt like I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with Don. I sincerely believe that he’s an extremely talented individual, and I’m a big fan of his art style.

So without further ado, here’s our very first comic (click to see a larger version):

Nintendo Everything comic-1

As you can see, our debut comic is seven panels long. Most would probably be about half of that – we’re estimating four panels. The tentative plan is to have a new comic ready every Saturday. Although most will feature our own original characters that tie into Nintendo in different ways, we’ll be sprinkling in other things from time to time like this one-shot Zelda comic. Don may also prepare some other goodies aside from comics for the site down the road, but that’s a topic for another day.

With the explanations out of the way, let us know what you think about our first comic! All feedback will be taken into consideration from here on out. We’re sort of in a “beta” stage right now, so comments may influence where we take the comic from here.

Capcom included a link to a survey in the Japanese version of Mega Man Legacy Collection. Two questions in particular stand out.

At one point of the survey, Capcom asks if “you would like to play a new entry in the classic series (like Mega Man 11).” A third section pertains to future collections, and asks which past series (X, Zero, Legends, Battle Network, ZX, Star Force) fans would like to see in a package.

I’m not one to make a big deal out of surveys, but this one is a bit interesting. Will anything materialize based on how fans respond? That I’m unsure of!

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart! Dragon Quest XI slips down a couple of spots, but still remains in the top five.

Head past the break for the full chart. All votes were cast between March 3 and March 9.

Were you not entirely satisfied with Azure Striker Gunvolt’s English translation? If so, you may be pleased to hear that 8-4, who localized the first game and is in charge of the sequel, is handling things a bit differently the second time around.

Inti Creates president Takuya Aizu told Skybane the following regarding Azure Striker Gunvolt 2’s translation:

“We are working with 8-4 again on the translation, but as you may know, we got a lot of feedback from the first game in regards to what people thought of its English translation. The team at 8-4 is very much aware of that feedback, so the translation for Gunvolt 2 may vary a little bit from what you saw with the first game. We have the utmost faith in 8-4’s abilities, and have no doubts in our minds that they will produce a fabulous translation.”

Aizu also confirmed that Japanese voices will be included in Azure Striker Gunvolt 2. Meanwhile, Inti Creates is still planning on bringing the first game’s Steam update to 3DS which adds Japanese voices and a re-translation.

Take a look at the latest Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 concept art above. It gives us another look at Gunvolt’s new design.

Super Mario Maker’s latest Event Course and costume are now available. After completing “Yu Ayasaki’s Big Adventure!”, players will unlock the outfit based on the Daigasso! Band Bros. P character.

Here’s the official Event Course description:

Hi, everyone! I’m the up-and-coming voice actress Yu Ayasaki! I’ve been hosting a radio show in the Nintendo 3DS game “Daigasso! Band Bros. P” exclusively in Japan, but now the whole world gets to see me as a Mario costume! I’ve still got a long way to go as a voice actress, but I’m ready to give anything a try!

Here’s a full playthrough of the new Event Course:

And a closer look at the costume:

At one point, there may have been plans to include some extra features in the Pokken Tournament Pro Pad. Austin Mageles has been picking the controller apart and came across a couple of interesting discoveries.

First, it seems that there are two areas where two force feedback motors would have been included, which is further hinted at with “LM” and “RM” prints on the circuit board. This would designate “Left Motor” and “Right Motor” – both would likely be used for rumble support. Also found within the transparent red plastic on the bottom of the controller are “dimples” for LED lights.

Here’s a roundup of Mageles’ photos:

Splatoon’s latest European Splatfest has now wrapped up, and Nintendo has made the results available. Just like in North America, the 12th competition was a closely contested battle.

Team Hoverboard was victorious thanks to small edges in both votes (51 percent) and wins (52 percent). You can’t get much close than that! In the end, Team Hoverboard took home 363 points compared to Team Jet Pack’s 337 points.

The Game Boy Advance originally launched 15 years ago today, as it’s now March 21 in Japan. The Japanese release took place on March 21, 2001. In North America and Europe, the system arrived in June of that year.

Does anyone have any fond memories of the GBA? I still remember picking up mine at Toys “R” Us many years ago! I believe Spyro: Season of Ice was one of the games I picked up at the time.
