Nintendo has a promotion running all around the world for Super Smash Bros. owners on Wii U and 3DS. By registering both games on Club Nintendo, you can receive a free soundtrack CD and access to Mewtwo DLC this spring.
We haven’t heard about too many issues pertaining to the promotion, but those in the the Scandinavian region are dealing with a major problem. Here’s what reader Håkon sent us:
It seems as though the Scandinavian region is cheated out of the Smash Bros.-promotion with the soundtrack and Mewtwo being provided to those who purchased versions for both the Wii U and the 3DS.
As the 13th of January draws closer, and the last date on which you are allowed to register games for the promotion, Bergsala (the Nordic distributor of all Nintendo games and merchandise) has yet to make any statement on how or if they will provide this promotion to the loyal fans in this region. This is by no means the first time Bergsala is unable to keep up with the content offered by the company in other regions.
I personally attempted to get a statement from Bergsala regarding this matter, but the only reply I got was that they had “no information regarding these campaigns at the moment”. Of course, this could be no more than corporate talk, but there are currently no signs that they have any plans of including us this time around either.
Seems like the Nordic region is yet again left out in the cold.
Hopefully things can get sorted out over there soon!
Good news, Pikmin fans – Pikmin 3 will not be the final entry in the franchise. Shigeru Miyamoto stated in an interview with Smosh that he has more ideas for the series, and additional games will be made in the future.
His words in full:
“I still have a lot of ideas about what I want to do with Pikmin, but nothing is decided yet in terms of anything else, but of course we will continue to make Pikmin games.”
Here’s another fan project that you may be interested in: a remake of the very first Paper Mario game. “New Paper Mario” is looking to replace all textures in the game with larger, redone ones. Players will be able to access the results in an emulator once everything is complete.
Nintendo doesn’t appear to be working on a new F-Zero game at present, though Shigeru Miyamoto hasn’t ruled out a return to the franchise in the future.
During an interview with Smosh, Miyamoto mentioned that a new entry could be possible “if we create a new type of controller interface and we find that controller interface is particularly suited for F-Zero”.
Here are Miyamoto’s words in full:
We see a lot of other designers who are kind of making more traditional racing-style games, so we try to focus on something that feels a little bit more gamey. So maybe if we create a new type of controller interface and we find that controller interface is particularly suited for F-Zero, then maybe we’ll do something again with it in the future.
