Last week we heard about a Peach Pink 2DS system coming to GameStop for the launch of Disney Magical World. And today, Nintendo has confirmed a special 3DS XL system based on the same game.

Walmart and Nintendo World will both be selling the “Mickey Edition” 3DS XL model. We don’t have any clear photos of the system yet, but the system is featured in snapshots of an upcoming commercial for Disney Magical World that Nintendo just passed out. It looks pretty similar to the Japanese console released a few months back.

Capcom is revising its operating income forecast from 12 billion yen to 10 billion yen. For the fiscal year, the company’s net income forecast has also been slashed from 6.8 billion yen to 3.3 billion yen. That’s about a 50 percent drop.

Why the negative forecasts from Capcom? The company’s Mobile Contents business and PC Online business are to blame, with Monster Hunter Frontier specifically affecting the latter.

However, it’s not all bad news for Capcom. Sales are expected to rise from 97 billion yen to 101.5 billion yen. Monster Hunter 4 is also experiencing strong sales and the pachislot title Monster Hunter Gekka Raimei has been “highly successful”.

Bravely Default has been a strong success for Square Enix, which may be a bit surprising given that its a brand new kind of JRPG. It sold well not only in Japan, but the west as well.

Thanks to Bravely Default’s reception, it sounds like Square Enix is reconsidering its approach to the genre. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda said in a recent interview that the company will now be putting its efforts into “heavy JRPGs” so that the company “can better focus on our target, which will also bring better results.”

Masuda told Nikkei Trendy the following when asked if Square Enix have any global titles for smartphones in its upcoming lineup:

Bandai Namco has announced a brand new Coliseum Mode for One Piece: Unlimited World Red.

According to the publisher, Unlimited World Red’s Coliseum Mode “will closely resemble the latest episodes of One Piece and bring heart-pounding action and glory to the ring as pirates fight relentlessly to earn top rankings.” Straw Hat Luffy and Trafalgar Law, a member of the Royal Seven Warlords of the Sea, will team up to battle Donquixote Doflamingo – a character joining the battle for the first time. Law will also be a new playable in Coliseum Mode only.

You can find some new screenshots from One Piece: Unlimited World Red above. The game is due out later this year in the west.

Super Smash Bros. series director Masahiro Sakurai posted the following on Miiverse:

Pic of the day. Luigi might be thinking, “Who would’ve thought I’d get to show off the Poltergust in Super Smash Bros.?!” Wondering if it’s going to suck something in? Yeah, it probably will.

Seems like we’ve got the first look at this new entries’ version of Luigi’s Final Smash. Is it the same as his crazy, crippling move in Brawl? That’s a Negative. Zone.

ON THIS EPISODE: Jack kicks off ‘what we played’ with some continued discussion of Wind Waker HD, Austin filled out the middle with his thoughts on Wii U eShop game Pure Chess, and Laura tells us why she’s now addicted to World of Warcraft.

PLUS: We have a discussion about the GBA Virtual Console on Wii U, which games we plan on purchasing, and what games we might desire to see in the future.

AND: Listener mail brings Zelda back into the fray (albeit less prominently) with some talk about it vs. Darksiders, and some nice discussion of whether comparing one game to its predecessors is a valid way to review or criticize.

Counterplay Games’ Kickstarter for DUELYST – a squad-based tactical combat title – may receive a Wii U stretch goal.

We recently asked the team if Nintendo’s platform has been considered for the in-progress campaign. While nothing has been guaranteed, team lead Keith Lee did tell us the following:

We’re definitely looking into it. Love to get it on there but we don’t want to overextend ourselves right now. If we get more SGs, then we’ll definitely consider it!

Lee later added, “We’ll def think more about Wii U!”

You can check out DUELYST on Kickstarter here. If Nintendo fans show interest, perhaps Counterplay will be further inclined to support Wii U with a stretch goal (or even a Wii U version after the campaign ends).
