Speaking with MCV, Atlus CEO Naoto Hiraoka commented briefly on Nintendo’s upcoming console Switch. Hiraoka is keeping quiet on any specific titles that the company may have in store, but said that it’s “making for some interesting potential.

“Our participation as a publisher for the Nintendo Switch has been announced, and while we don’t have any news on that front to share, the device is making for some interesting potential,” he said.

Development on Cryamore is starting to reach its end, and the team is now looking to ensure that Kickstarter backers properly receive their rewards. In terms of Nintendo platforms, the title is still slated for Wii U. No Switch version is currently planned.

NostalgiCO said in a Kickstarter update this week that the team doesn’t have any plans to support Switch. That being said, if anything changes, backers who completed a survey would be able to message the team to modify their preferred platform.

Following in the trend set by Bethesda,  several major game publishers and developers have commented on the Nintendo Switch, but refrained from revealing specific details about any projects.

IGN has organized the comments about the Nintendo Switch made by the many different publishers and developers into an article on their site, and have rounded up some noteworthy comments. While most of these are as similarly vague as the comments made by Bethesda and Ubisoft,  it’s impressive to see so much support from third parties for the Switch.

A representative from SEGA had this to say about the Nintendo Switch:

SEGA and Nintendo have been great partners over the years, and we continue to with our support of the Nintendo Switch. We look forward to revealing specific game plans soon, but have nothing further to announce at this time

From Altus:

We’re excited to be supporting the Nintendo Switch and believe the games we publish are a perfect fit for the portable nature of the console

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is now available in North America. The RPG can be found either in stores or on the eShop. If you opt for the latter, note that the game takes up 13,747 blocks. That amounts to 1718.375MB.

So here’s something interesting. In North America, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is launching tomorrow. It’ll be entirely in English – except for one exception.

Atlus said in an update today that the team accidentally left over a tiny bit of Japanese text. You’ll only find it towards the end of the game, and in rare instances as you need to trigger a certain set of circumstances. Atlus did apologize for not seeing this, but it’s unclear if they’ll be able to put out a patch in the near future.

Here’s the full explanation:

Gather around folks, we’ve got a story to tell, capped off with an apology for the upcoming RPG, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse.

As a bunch of people pointed out, an image circulated this weekend of our English build having some unlocalized Japanese text still in it. I’m not gonna link it here because it’s from the battle at the end of the game and could definitely spoil some details for people. Let that also serve as your warning before you go looking for it.

Nevertheless, I asked our localization team about it, and they pored over the game’s text files looking to find out what happened.

And…?

Atlus held another lengthy live stream late last week to show off Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. View the full archive with a bunch of footage after the break.
