Bayonetta voice actress Hellena Taylor hasn’t been asked to reprise her role for Bayonetta 3… yet

A couple of weeks ago, SEGA hosted a 24-hour live stream for its Gameblast 2018 charity event. As part of that, Bayonetta voice actress Hellena Taylor stopped by for a good hour, and fans were able to ask all sorts of questions.
Taylor did actually talk about Bayonetta 3 briefly, but she didn’t have much to say – and there’s a good reason for that. Taylor said on the record that she hasn’t been asked to reprise her role just yet. This could be because, based on her estimation, the game is “quite early in the development”. Taylor believes she’ll eventually be asked back. Note that when she is asked to voice the role of Bayonetta again, Taylor mentioned that she won’t be able to say she’s involved with the game.

Hideki Kamiya on Bayonetta and Nintendo’s involvement, Bayonetta 3
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
In a series of messages posted on Twitter, PlatinumGames’ Hideki Kamiya spoke about Bayonetta and Nintendo’s involvement. He was a director on the first game, contributed to the second title, and may have some involvement with the third entry.
Kamiya recalled how, originally, Bayonetta 2 was considered for multiple platforms when it was in development as part of a collaboration with SEGA. However, the game was put on hold because of “circumstances” at the company. After Nintendo stepped in, PlatinumGames was able to finish development, and the rights are with the Big N and SEGA. Nintendo actually allowed the Japanese voice track created for the Wii U version of Bayonetta to be included in the PC version.

Platinum again talks about sequel interest, including Bayonetta 3

At BitSummit last month, Kotaku caught up with PlatinumGames co-founder Atsushi Inaba. Inaba touched on a variety of topics, including the company’s future plus interest in developing sequels.
Here’s what Inaba had to say about the latter, which prompted him to mention Bayonetta 3:
“For any time, if we have the chance to make a sequel, we want to do it. There is no title we don’t want to make a sequel for. So, of course, we want to make Bayonetta 3 and Vanquish 2. So, yes, we want to make sequels.”
Hideki Kamiya, who created Bayonetta, has also been vocal about wanting to see a third game happen. At E3, he said it’s “actually something I’ve been thinking a lot about” and Platinum has “talked a lot about it internally”.

Kamiya comments further on Bayonetta 3 – “talked a lot about it internally” within Platinum

PlatinumGames’ Hideki Kamiya has once again commented on the prospects of Bayonetta 3.
Speaking with Polygon, Kamiya noted that the potential project is “actually something I’ve been thinking a lot about.” Moreover, PlatinumGames as a whole has “talked a lot about it internally” with Kamiya having even come up with some outlines about the type of game it’d be.
Kamiya said:
“To answer your question straightly, yes. It’s actually something I’ve been thinking a lot about. We’ve talked a lot about it internally at the company and I’ve written some outlines for what the game would be. And I feel really confident it would be cool if we got the chance to make it. Right now, we’re looking at opportunities… If that opportunity ever came up to make Bayonetta 3, that would be really, really cool.”
This marks the second time we’ve heard from Kamiya about Bayonetta 3 within the week. He recently said that Platinum wants to make the title, and Kamiya has personal interest in a new Okami game as well.
