Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
NintendoWorldReport has put up a new Swords & Soldiers II preview with tons of details about the game. You can find them rounded up below.
– Like the original game
– Side-scrolling strategy adventure
– Don’t control character movement
– Build towers, add units and upgrades
– Use magical spells
– Matches can be frantic and most of the time close calls
– Need to get to the other side of the playing field with the elements at your proposal
– Try to destroy the enemies’ tower
– Each faction has certain ways of making money and mana
– Will have to figure out the best things each side has on offer
– At critical moments, you need to decide whether to spend more money or instead save your current units with spells
– 3 factions
– Vikings are back from the original
– New Demon faction
– Vikings still have their berserker units in addition to some popular magic spells that make a return (lightning, ice and heal)
– These spells will protect the units on the playing field and let allow you to play as some sort of godlike figure
– For the mana that is needed to use them, you are now required to build towers
– Vikings have 2 specific units
– Sheepriders are old men riding sheep, and can hurt multiple enemies at the same time
– New Super Magic Spell replaces the Thor Hammer from the original game
– This lets you use three uppercuts across game field and destroy a bunch of enemies that are in your way.
– No longer 3 separate campaigns for each faction
– You will now follow the Viking Boss Red Beard’s epic journey across one lengthy trial of levels
– Demo level is set at Red Beard’s grandfather, who just enjoys some nice and relaxing Golf these days
– The Demons attack and their leader will have to do everything in his power to stop them
– He doesn’t have many troops, but luckily grandpa lets Red Beard use his lackeys
– Players will be able to get club wielding troops and support troops who like to throw meat to keep their friends alive
– One level will have players walking with your new moving fortress or have to cleverly combine elements from completely different factions in specific ways
– 2 control options on the GamePad
– Can use the sticks and buttons for a more classic feel
– Press in the ZL/ZR buttons to rotate the units and spells with the left stick for easy access
– The other option was using the touchscreen, allowing you to tap away at the upgrades and everything else you would need
– Can also use a hybrid of the two, which allows you to cross the playing field with the stick
– For the local Skirmish mode, you will be able to use every controller you could possibly want
– This includes the Wii Remote and Wii U Pro Controller

Goodbye Galaxy Games planning new 3DS FPS, may work with Wii U this year
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News, Wii U eShop | 1 Comment
Goodbye Galaxy Games appears to have plans for a first-person shooter on the 3DS.
Studio head Hugo Smits started out by first asking fans the following on Twitter:
who would like fast paced FPS with a twist on 3DS?
— Hugo Smits (@HugoSmits) March 30, 2014
Smits then wrote soon after:
@Trev_G1 @df2506 I got some cool ideas for one… so if there are enough people wanting it…
— Hugo Smits (@HugoSmits) March 30, 2014
@df2506 @Trev_G1 Yeah Moon looks amazing! Can't wait to play! But I'm more talking classic FPS like Wolfenstein 3D or Doom for my project 🙂
— Hugo Smits (@HugoSmits) March 30, 2014
All of this culminated with the following tweet:
Okay pretty sure I will work on a FPS game for 3DS this year then.. haha busy year this is going to be!
— Hugo Smits (@HugoSmits) March 31, 2014
In addition to the new 3DS shooter, Smits is trying to wrap up two more projects for the handheld, and may even bring a title over to Wii U – like a Tappingo port.
@GoldMetalSonic Might start with WiiU this year. it will be something 'easy' like a port of Tappingo, need focus on tech-side first!
— Hugo Smits (@HugoSmits) March 31, 2014
@Samus2008 hope I don't die 😀 Trying to finish 2 3DS projects in next 2 months, Gomba in the summer, FPS game for xmas? and maybe some wiiU
