Mario Kart 7

Mario Kart missing courses

The Mario Kart series is home to many, many different courses, and each new game in the series adds even more to that big number. A ton of old tracks were remade for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass, but a select few of them didn’t make the cut. Not just that, but some Mario Kart courses have never reappeared after their initial debut.

Today, we’re listing off all the Mario Kart tracks that never returned to future entries in the series. Do keep in mind that we won’t count Mario Kart Tour here – eventually, its service will end and the tracks in it will presumably become inaccessible. In case that happens, we’re sticking to courses that haven’t appeared in any main series games since their debut.

Mario Kart 7 update 1.2

Original: Believe it or not, a new version 1.2 update has just gone live for Mario Kart 7. Yes, this is the 3DS game we’re talking about – not Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch.

Nintendo has shared the patch notes, but they don’t provide much insight. The company only states: “Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.”

Mario Kart Tour finally released earlier today, and it includes some tracks that were also in Mario Kart 7 on 3DS. See how the two versions compare in the video below.

The sixth Play Nintendo Show has gone live. View the new video below, which focuses on Mario Kart 7.

The latest Mario Kart 8 track comparison comes from NintendoWorldReport, who pitted the Wii U version of Neo Bowser City up against its 3DS counterpart. Take a look below:

GameXplain has put together a video comparing the Neo Bowser City track in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 7. You can watch it below.

You know how Mario Kart 8 comes with a red case? Now its predecessor has something similar going on as well. For the re-release of Mario Kart 7 in North America, the game is packaged in a red case.

Also worth mentioning, Amazon has the Wii Fit U bundle available for $64.59. This comes with the game, Balance Board, and Fit Meter.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Jakks Pacific is teaming up with Nintendo for the first Nintendo-licensed Mario Kart ride-on.

Super Mario Kart Ride-On is the real life counterpart to Mario’s kart from Mario Kart 7, sound effects and all. The vehicle can be switched between on-road and off-road tires.

Jakks Pacific’s Ken Goodison said of the ride:

“For the first time ever, you can be in the driver seat of your very own Nintendo Kart. It’s an exciting little runner that we expect to sit competitively within other 6V ride-ons and with it being so relevant to the Nintendo Mario Kart, it should do very well.”

Super Mario Kart Ride-On will debut in the UK this coming fall/winter.
