Pokemon

The first episode of Pokemon Origins is now available in English. It can now be seen through Pokemon TV.

Pokemon Origins is different than the typical Pokemon anime in that it connects directly to the Red/Blue video games.

In Pokemon X/Y, a blue pentagon can be seen next to your Pokemon while viewing the status screen in trades, the box, and so on. It was initially unclear what it was intended for, but we now have an answer.

Game Freak included the pentagon as a hack checker of sorts. Pokemon who have the pentagon are confirmed to be legitimate. If the creature doesn’t have the blue icon, that means there was an error and it has been hacked.

The Pokemon Company’s simple definition of the pentagon is that the Pokemon is okay to use.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y have collectively become the fastest-selling Nintendo game in Australia. The two titles sold over 100,000 units in its first weekend, surpassing Black/White’s 80,000 first week sales. Impressively, that number was achieved in a single day.

The Pokemon Company has finally released official artwork for the various Mega Evolutions in Pokemon X/Y. You can find the gallery below.

Hitoshi Ariga, perhaps best known for his work on the Mega Man manga series, has revealed his involvement with Pokemon X/Y.

Ariga worked on several creature designs for the two games. Pangoro, Inkay, Malamar, Honedge, Doublade, Aegislash, Tyrunt, Tyrantrum, Amaura, and Aurorus are all Ariga’s creations.

Ariga wrote in a new deviantART post, “the Pokemon art director, Sugimori, had taken notice of some of my past work and that’s why he asked me if I’d be interested in doing some design work for Pokemon XY.”

So in some ways, designing Pokemon for XY was like an extension of my days of drawing monsters for “ActRaiser 2” and “Beyond Oasis”. I am a Pokemon Trainer as well as an illustrator, so needless to say I was incredibly honored and pleased to have this opportunity.

CoroCoro has published a few more images showing off various Mega Evolutions in Pokemon X/Y. Just to be safe, we’ll once again post the gallery after the break.

Some may feel that the art contains spoilers, so you can find the gallery after the break.

Game Freak director Junichi Masuda shared an impressive Pokemon X/Y statistic at the “Salon del Manga de Barcelona” convention earlier today. Between the two games, over 10 million Pokemon have been exchanged/traded. Fans responded to the announcement with a strong ovation for Masuda.
