Nintendo Switch Online update out now (version 1.1.0) – can voice chat while using other apps

Original: A new update has gone live for the Nintendo Switch Online app. Version 1.1.0 is live on both iOS and Android.
The big improvement with today’s update is that voice chat now works when opening other applications and when sleep mode is enabled. Additionally, the app has improved compatibility with Bluetooth devices on Android. Nintendo took care of some other issues as well.
Nintendo notes that on devices running Android 6.0 or later, voice chat may be interrupted when the device enters sleep mode if power-saving is enabled. This can be disabled in the settings.

8Bitdo releases firmware update for its controllers to fix input lag

A new firmware update has been released for the 8Bitdo controllers. Version 4.01 can be downloaded here.
The patch notes state: “Fixed input lag problem when used with other controllers.” We’ve heard that there were some issues when using 8Bitdo controllers with Switch, but these problems should hopefully be taken care of after applying the update.

Cave Story+ update adding local co-op on September 15

A major feature is being added to Cave Story+ next week. Co-op is coming to the game on September 15, Nicalis has announced. It will be possible to play together with a friend locally.
Nicalis shared the news on Twitter, and gave a brief look at co-op in action:

ARMS version 3.0 introducing customizable controls

Update (9/8): Added in English version of the video.
Original (9/7): The next ARMS update is coming very soon. During the middle of this month, Nintendo should be releasing version 3.0, which will add Lola Pop. The new character, her ARMS, and the new stage won’t be all though.
On the Japanese ARMS Twitter account, Nintendo reveals that ARMS 3.0 will introduce customizable controls. You’ll also be able to adjust the sensitivity of the motion controls.

Overcooked: Special Edition update out now (version 1.0.1)

The promised update for Overcooked: Special Edition is now live. Version 1.0.1 is out now.
Among other things, the team has improved the game’s frame rate on Switch. Other improvements have also been implemented.
A second patch is already in the works, and will further improve performance.

Splatoon version 1.3.0 – full patch notes

Update: Splatoon version 1.3.0 is now live. We’ve also added the official patch notes from Nintendo below.
Original: Later tonight, the next Splatoon patch will be going live. Nintendo will be publishing version 1.3.0 following a bit of maintenance.
The patch notes are live, and while they’re only in Japanese at the moment, Reddit’s frozenpandaman was kind enough to translate everything. You can find them in full below. We’ll add in the official English version later today.

Switch Parental Controls app update out now (version 1.2.1)

Nintendo already released an update for the Switch Parental Controls app this week. That brought it up to version 1.2.0. Another small patch has been issued today as well – version 1.2.1. Nintendo merely states that more bug fixes have been implemented.
Poke Transporter (Version 1.3) update is live

A new Poke Transporter update is now available to download. The Patch Notes for Version 1.3 of Poke Transporter tell us that only adjustments have also been made for a much better gaming experience.

Super Mario Maker update out now (version 1.46)

A small update is now live for Super Mario Maker, which is version 1.46. It’s a pretty small patch all things considered.
Nintendo’s full rundown of the update is as follows:
– Addressed an issue that caused text in the e-manual to display incorrectly.
– A number of issues have been fixed to make for a pleasant playing experience. (Released originally on 4/27/17)

Fire Emblem Heroes update out now (version 1.7.0)

Fire Emblem Heroes just received a new update. Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have issued version 1.7.0.
The full patch notes are as follows:
・ New Support gameplay feature added.
・ Added a way to view team names when selecting teams.
・ Added an option to search for Heroes by skill within Inherit Skill menu.
・ Added new options to the Settings menu.
・ Bug fixes.
