Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire are coming to the 3DS, Pokemon Company International has revealed. The two remakes are due out this November.

“Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are a fresh take on Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, which launched in 2003 and were fan-favourite hits on the Game Boy Advance system,” the announcement reads. “The new titles promise to take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world.”

No actual gameplay details about the remakes have been announced. Sadly, images are not available either. You can expect news throughout the year leading up to Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire’s launch.

Nintendo’s latest financial results are in. The company has reported its financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014.

First, let’s talk about system sales. Global sales of 3DS hardware and software sales hit 12.24 million and 67.89 million respectively during the fiscal year, Nintendo says. Wii U hardware and software sales came in at 2.72 million and 18.86 million units respectively.

In total (life-to-date), 3DS hardware sales stand at 43.33 million sold while Wii U stands at 6.18 million. Nintendo is forecasting an additional 12 million 3DS units (67 million for software) and 3.6 million Wii U units (20 million for software) for the coming year.

Net sales decreased from 635.422 billion yen to 571.726 yen compared to the previous fiscal year. Nintendo experienced a gross profit of 163.2 billion yen. Additionally, the company has reported an operating loss of 46.4 billion yen and a net loss of 23.2 billion yen.

Lots of additional financial data can be found here. You can also find an outlook for the next fiscal year covering Wii U/3DS after the break.

Along with today’s screenshot, Sakurai passed along the following message on Miiverse:

Fight! The Wonderful 100!! We also made trophies of some of the other Wonderful Ones.

During a recent podcast, the folks over at Mega64 shared some very interesting behind-the-scenes information about the video produced with Nintendo for the company’s E3 2014 plans. We learn that Nintendo reached out just after PAX East, Reggie’s role was initially much smaller, and the original plan was to film at an office site about a block away due to Nintendo’s policy of not allowing anyone to film inside their headquarters.

Believe me, there are plenty of additional bits of well. The entire breakdown of information can be found after the break.

Have you guys ever heard of Art of Balance on Wii U? I have, because for 3 weeks we’ve been showing off exclusive screenshots of the game, complete with discussion and inside-info from the game’s developer Shin’en! The feature returns with a look at something we haven’t seen before: The game’s newly added multiplayer modes. Manfred Linzer from Shin’en describes it best below, so check out what he has to say and enjoy the warm rays of sunlight in the above screenshot.

Hello there! Time for another screenshot from Art of Balance (AoB), our upcoming Wii U game. Today we will show you an image from one of the many multiplayer game modes.

Everyone loves playing against a friend via split-screen, and AoB allows you to play locally or online using split-screen. The best part: it’s not only one on one but you can play with up to five people locally or up to eight people online. The players get arranged into two teams that try to solve the puzzles in parallel.

Although the single-player mode is great fun, we had the biggest laughs and enjoyment when playing the game in split-screen mode with a few friends. You simply play for hours and hours…

Octoroks and Mets make an appearance today, showcasing another way players will be able to interact with non-playable characters/hazards on stages. Sakurai explain on Miiverse:

Members of the Enemies That Love to Hide Association, here are Octorok and Met. Calmly grab them while they’re ducking.

Nintendo of America product marketing manager Bill Trinen has issued some lengthy remarks regarding the situation surrounding gay marriage in Tomodachi Life.

You may remember reports that had surfaced from Japan about players being able to partake in same-sex relationships. This resulted from two scenarios: a data leak and players dressing up their Mii characters as males even though their gender was female.

The former scenario was caused by a free tool on the 3DS eShop which allows players to transfer Mii characters from the original DS game. Nintendo eventually patched the bug, though it’s obviously still possible “to create a male version of a Mii character and assign their gender as female.”

Trinen says that there have been some misconceptions in the west, but in Japan, there was no confusion. He also mentioned that Nintendo must “try to find what’s the best way to create this experience and really have a fun and entertaining experience.”

You can find all of Trinen’s comments below.
