The February 2022 Nintendo Direct will be kicking off in just a bit, and we’ve set up a live stream. We actually have separate embeds ready to go for North America, Europe, and Japan.
As was announced yesterday, the event will begin at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM in the UK / 11 PM in Europe. We mentioned this previously, but it’ll focus on Switch games launching during the first half of 2022 – though Nintendo could go beyond that window for some games. In any case, we’re in for 40 minutes of news.
You can watch the February 2022 Nintendo Direct as it happens with the live stream below. We’ll also have a live blog going throughout the event plus additional coverage on the main site during and after it airs.

Microsoft indicates that Activision Blizzard games will still come to Switch

Despite Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it sounds like Xbox will still be supporting its franchises on Switch.
Some have been concerned about what would happen to Activision Blizzard games on competing platforms. However, Microsoft has said that it will continue to release Call of Duty games on PlayStation consoles, and is “interested in taking similar steps to support Nintendo’s successful platform.”

The Cruel King and The Great Hero seeing a slight delay in the west

NIS America is delaying The Cruel King and The Great Hero in the west, but only slightly. It’s now planned for March 15, 2022 in North America and March 11, 2022 in Europe.
The Cruel King and The Great Hero was last on track for for March 1 in North America and March 4 in Europe.

A new Nintendo Direct for February 2022 will air tomorrow, February 9, Nintendo just announced. It will be a 40-minute video focusing on Switch titles releasing in the first half of 2022.

Amazon goes live with February 2022 buy 2, get 1 free sale on games and more

Original (2/6): Perhaps unsurprisingly, Amazon has just kicked off a new buy 2, get 1 free sale for February 2022. It includes a number of categories including video games.
We say unsurprisingly because Target started up its own buy 2, get 1 free sale today. As was the case late last year, Amazon has now decided to price-match.
River City Girls Zero launches on Switch next week

WayForward has set a release date for River City Girls Zero, the classic 16-bit beat ’em up title. Switch will be getting the game on February 14, 2022 in both North America and Europe.
River City Girls Zero was originally planned for 2021. However, WayForward delayed the game in ensure “the most accurate port and best experience possible”.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles confirmed for Switch in the west

The Switch version of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles, which was first announced last week, has now been confirmed for the west. North America and Europe will be getting the game on June 10, 2022.
According to SEGA, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles on Switch contains everything found on other platforms, including all the post-launch content added such as the six new playable characters – Rui, Akaza, Susamaru, Yahaba, Enmu, and Yushiro & Tamayo, new online missions that reward Kimetsu Points to unlock additional rewards, and all the balance changes made to the combat.
