In a recent interview, GQ sat down with Super Mario Odyssey director Kenta Motokura and producer Yoshiaki Koizumi in preparation for the launch of the upcoming Mario title. Motokura and Koizumi discuss deciding on new environments, creating Cappy, delving into Mario and Peach’s relationship, and maintaining Mario’s longevity as a character and franchise.

We’ve rounded up the notable quotes below. You can read the interview in full here.

Human: Fall Flat may have a release date for Switch. Assuming what Nintendo has on its website can be trusted, Curve Digital will be publishing the game via the eShop at the very end of the year. It’s apparently planned for December 7.

Nintendo’s listing gives us the following overview:

inXile Entertainment CEO Brian Fargo announced today on Twitter that the company has been approved as a Nintendo Switch developer. inXile is known for titles such as Wasteland 2, The Mage’s Tale, and Torment: Tides of Numenera. Fargo doesn’t name any potential upcoming titles for the console, so time will tell what the developer has in store for the Switch.

Previously, we reported that Amazon tentatively listed Batman: The Telltale Series for November 14 on the Switch. In a tweet today, Telltale Games has confirmed November 14 as the North American release date. The game will launch November 17 in Europe and Australia.

More:

With the third generation of Pokémon seemingly close to debuting, dataminers Members of The Silph Road have shared code that includes the gender ratios of all third-generation Pokémon, Polygon reports.

Essentially, the gender ratio is mostly identical to the traditional games’ numbers; however, two glaring oversights have been found concerning legendary dragon Pokémon Latios and Latias. Specifically, exclusively male Latios and female counterpart Latias have had their genders flipped in Pokémon Go’s code.

Somehow, Niantic swapped this defining detail within Pokémon Go’s code. Based on what The Silph Road community dug up, Pokémon Go’s Latios is 100 percent female, while Latias is 100 percent male. That probably won’t have any bearing on gameplay — these two Pokémon can’t breed, in-game or in general — but for fans who know their Pokémon biology inside and out, it’s kind of a shocking switch.

We assume this will be fixed before the update goes live.
