Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was last updated at the start of 2019, but the game just received its latest patch. All users can access version 1.7.2.

Smash Bros. Ultimate to host tournament featuring series celebrating their 35th anniversaries

Nintendo has announced the latest tournament event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This time around, the game will be featuring franchises that are turning 35 this year. The tournament limit the fighters, stages, and items to Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Castlevania, and Dragon Quest.
The tournament kicks off on May 28. It will last for a total of three days.

Update 3 (5/25): Amazon Germany has pre-orders here, and it does ship to the U.S.
Update 2 (5/21): The amiibo is now up on Amazon UK here.
Update: Pre-orders are sold out at Best Buy, but just went up on GameStop here.
Original (5/19): Pre-orders have started to open for the newly-announced Zelda & Loftwing amiibo, which will be released alongside Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. Best Buy currently has it here. As more retailers make the figure available, we’ll let you know.
Keep in mind that this amiibo will be a bit pricier than normal. The cost of these figures have varied over the past few years, though they’ve usually settled in at around $16 from Nintendo. However, this one will set you back $25.
The Zelda & Loftwing amiibo releases on July 16.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword originally featured motion controls, but for the new HD version on Switch, Nintendo is also including the option to use buttons. A brief clip has now highlighted both control schemes.

SEGA announces Sonic Central presentation for May 27

SEGA will host a Sonic Central presentation on May 27, the company has announced. It will cover “a first look at some of the projects, partnerships, and events” for Sonic’s 30th anniversary.

IGN Expo announced for June 11 featuring new game reveals and more

It’s been announced that IGN Expo will be airing in a couple of weeks as part of the many game-related presentations set for June. The broadcast promises “new game reveals, never-before-seen gameplay, and announcements you won’t hear from anyone else.” Additionally, there will be further coverage on the announcements from Summer Game Fest’s Kick Off Live! show.

Axiom Verge 2 delayed to Q3 2021

Axiom Verge 2 has been pushed back to Q3 2021, creator Thomas Happ has confirmed. The game was previously targeting a soft Spring 2021 launch.
Happ told IGN that Axiom Verge 2 “will be better for the additional time.” It will also allow him to avoid burnout and crunch.
We’ll be sure to let you know when Axiom Verge 2 has a final release date on Switch.
