A new manga about the life of Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri and Game Freak will soon be released in Japan. Game Freak staffer James Turner tweeted out some excerpts early, which show some interesting things pertaining to the franchise.

Some have believed that we would never get a good look at documentation for the original Pokemon games due to it being lost to time or never having exited. However, one of the manga panels actually has a look at an internal Game Freak poll from way back in the day.

Update (5/17): The mention of “Nintendo Direct: E3 2018” has now been removed. It’s unclear if that’s due to the name being updated or because Nintendo didn’t want to share that name at this time.

Original (5/16): When Nintendo initially announced its plans for E3 2018 a few weeks ago, a digital presentation was confirmed. But at that time, the show didn’t actually have a name.

Now that seems to have changed. Nintendo updated its E3 website today, and it now includes the following title for the presentation: “Nintendo Direct: E3 2018”. It states specifically, “Three days of Nintendo Switch gameplay with Treehouse members and developers, starting right after Nintendo Direct: E3 2018 with Super Smash Bros.”

Owlboy

In a Reddit AMA held today, D-Pad Studios commented on the performance of Owlboy on Switch. While we don’t have specific numbers, the team is very happy with the results thus far. The game managed to turn a profit within just 24 hours of its launch on Nintendo’s console, which took D-Pad “by complete surprise”. The success bodes well for funding future projects, according to co-CEO Jo-Remi Madsen.

Owlboy released on the Switch eShop back in February. A special limited edition will arrive in July.

The big Adventurer’s Update for Portal Knights is now live on Switch. It includes new features, changes, and fixes.

Below are the patch notes shared when the update debuted on Steam earlier this year:

A few days ago, Nintendo announced that the NES Classic Edition (or NES Mini) will be restocked in June. Amazon Spain is now taking pre-orders here. It does ship to the US, so that’s something you can take advantage of. Separate controllers can also be ordered here.

NBA Playgrounds 2

NBA Playgrounds 2 will not be arriving next week as originally planned. Initially scheduled for May 22, Saber Interactive said today that the date has been moved out in the wake of “exciting things” happening with the franchise that the studio believes “will take arcade basketball to new levels.”

Dillon’s Dead-Heat Breaker

In an interview with Nintendo World Report, Nintendo’s Kensuke Tanabe and Risa Tabata as well as Vanpool’s spoke about the origins of the franchise and some of its influences.

When originally making Dillon’s Rolling Western, one of the first concepts was to have Goron tribe characters from The Legend of Zelda. Tanabe and Tsuda explained:
