Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 is a little over a week away from launching in Japan, but Square Enix still has more to share on the game. Today we have details and screenshots for Masters Road, Super Vital Synthesis, and more. Find today’s content below, courtesy of Gematsu.

Master’s Road

– Action mini-game
– Get to the goal while running through frequent traps and approaching monsters
– Use your monster’s ride techniques
– Master’s Road can be found all over
– Their entrances are not displayed on the map, but rather hidden quietly for you to find on your own in locations you might not normally step foot in
– An item called the “Heaven Guide Stone” is the key to Master’s Road
– Monsters will be wandering about
– Some of them will block your way as if they’re protectors of the path
– Blazing fires, rotating floors and other contraptions will block your way
– Switch out the monsters you’re riding and move forward
– If you fall off the map due to an an unforeseen circumstance, you’ll have to start again from the beginning

Gates to Different Dimensions

– In Break World, only with your Reactor can you find gates leading to another dimension
– Through these gates that cross space and time
– You will encounter the monster masters of a different world, unexpected monsters, other surprises
– There are powerful monsters wandering about the different world
– Make your preparations after discovering a gate and then jump in
– After jumping into the rip in space-time, you’ll see an environment unlike what you’ve seen before
– You’ll sometimes encounter masters outside of the protagonist
– Defeat them for items that will help you on your adventure

Super Vital Synthesis

– Synthesize two monsters to create a more powerful monster
– New synthesis method: “Super Vital Synthesis”
– Through Super Vital Synthesis, the combined monster’s strength-denoting Rank instantly rises to SS
– The characteristics held by the original monsters can be inherited by the newly born monster
– Ex: Super Vital Synthesizing a mimic (normal body, Absorb Magic, fast action) with a dragon slime (small body, Parameter Break, glance up) creates an SS-Rank Lumbering Machine that inherits the “fast action” of his parent, allowing him to attack before enemies
– Decide which size the child monster takes in a Super Vital Synthesis
– Ex: can create a compact-size Dragonlord to ride around

Take to the Heavens

– By riding on a giant monster, you can fly around freely in the sky
– Here you can find previously unseen monsters and lands
– In the sky fields, you can ride any monster if it’s big enough
– Size them up via Super Vital Synthesis and fly through the sky on your favorite monsters

Last week’s Super Mario Maker update made a small but notable tweak to one of the game’s items. The P-Switch’s hitbox has been modified, meaning it’s now more difficult to jump off it. Some players aren’t even sure if this was an intentional change or a glitch.

In any case, how the P-Switch works now is causing some issues. Courses made before the latest Mario Maker update use the old way of jumping off the item. However, levels made after the patch use the new method. And finally, if you were making a level before the patch and now make a change post-patch, the new P-Switch rules are applied. Because of this, it can be tough for players to determine how they should jump off a P-Switch in the game.

Just like with previous updates, the folks over on Smash Boards have started compiling their own patch notes for the latest Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS version. These notes indicate what sort of changes were made to certain characters.

Head past the break for a look at all of the balance changes discovered thus far. This is all based on the latest Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS update, version 1.1.5.

Last week, Videogamer spoke with Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley to talk Nintendo, including the NX.

Regarding the company in general, Kingsley had only good things to say about the Big N. He told the site:

“Nintendo are brilliant. They’re a fabulous company and I love them. I always feel they’re quite eccentric. They come up with some incredible hardware. Even the Virtual Boy back in the day was really intriguing, and then the clamshell design of their handhelds. To be honest, I just don’t know [whether Rebellion will support NX]. The only way I can answer the question is, when we know what the machine is we’ll see and we’ll have a look. I’ve always loved Nintendo, I love their games and love their hardware.”

As for NX, Kingsley has no idea about what the system actually is at this point. He therefore can’t commit to or rule out support until more information has surfaced, though the door is being left open.
