Select GameStop stores hosting Pokemon event on Saturday

On Saturday, select GameStop stores will be hosting a special Pokemon event in celebration of the 2016 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco.
Fans will be given an opportunity to battle against others in Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Also, the first 50 people who stop by between 12 PM and 3 PM local time will be givne a set of Pokemon Sun/Moon art cards while supplies last.

Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs hitting the North American Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow

Another Pokemon spin-off is due out on the North American Wii U Virtual Console this week. As listed on Nintendo’s website, Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs will be available starting tomorrow.
The page has the following overview:
“The third installment in the action-packed Pokémon Ranger series lets players take on the role of a Pokémon Ranger tasked with protecting Pokémon, people, and nature in the Oblivia region. As a Pokémon Ranger, players investigate the nefarious actions of the Pokémon Pinchers, who have been disrupting the peace by chasing and catching Pokémon.”
Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs will cost $9.99.

Mario Party: Star Rush modes revealed

Mario Party: Star Rush is playable at Gamescom 2016 this week. And interestingly enough, Nintendo actually brought the full game to the expo.
Word out of Gamescom is that Star Rush offers several modes. They are as follows:
– Character Museum: Look at characters you collected, amiibo option, can use them as a main hub character
– Minigames: Free-for-all, boss, bowser, coinathlon options
– Toad Scramble: various grid based boards, three worlds open in demo (grass, ocean, ghost house)
– Coinathlon: collect many coins in dedicated 60 second minigames, can use items to stop in tracks, every coin counts as space, three laps
– Balloon Bash: be quick with collecting coins on this mini board, 20 turns, minigames at end of each round
– Rhythm Recital: musical minigame using the touchscreen. Play famous Mario tunes. Each character has instrument
– Multiplayer: download and local options, guest download data can be transferred to final game
We should be seeing off-screen footage of Mario Party: Star Rush before the week is over.

Ubisoft released a new Just Dance 2017 trailer in celebration of Gamescom, which highlights some new tracks. The song lists will have Scream & Shout by will.i.am Ft. Britney Spears, Cake by the Ocean by DNCE, All About Us by Jordan Fisher, and more. Watch today’s video below.

Typoman dev wants to bring new “Revised” version to Wii U, but has limited resources

Typoman started off as a Wii U exclusive last year. Developer Brainseed Factory has since been bringing the game to additional platforms under the name “Typoman: Revised”.
As the name suggests, several improvements and changes have been made based on player feedback. The hint system is gone, many segments were designed (such as boss battles), and the controls were updated.
With Typoman starting out on Wii U, some have been hoping that those who bought the game on that platform would have access to the new version. It’s something that Brainseed wants to accomplish, but promises can’t be made yet due to limited resources.
The studio recently wrote on Twitter:
