Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice details – Apollo and Phoenix face-off, DLC episode
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 0 comments
Even though Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice is just a few days away from launching in Japan, Famitsu does have some additional information to share. This week’s issue sheds light on the Apollo vs. Phoenix face-off as well as the DLC episode.
First, when it comes to the Apollo and Phoenix’s battle, a certain piece of evidence causes the two characters to clash. Blackquill is called as a witness in a trial (unknown if these two incidents are one and the same). After finding the spectator’s seats too “boring”, he hops behind the defense’s desk to act as support.
Famitsu also details the DLC episode Turnabout Across Time. Here’s the rundown on that:
– Larry introduces Phoenix to his bride-to-be, Shizuku Ootsube
– Shizuku: a maid working in the Haguruma household
– Shizuku claims that just after she was married, she was attacked and nearly killed, only to travel back in time at the critical moment
– She now finds herself the suspect instead
– Shizuku also says Larry’s got his head screwed on backwards as usual – she’s getting married to a man named Raito, the blue-haired mechanic
– Phoenix and Maya meet both Raito and Edgeworth when they head to the scene to investigate
– They soon find themselves going up against Edgeworth in court

Man hired to play Donkey Kong says costume left him injured, trying to sue Nintendo
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News | 35 Comments
Michael Oconitrillo was hired by Nintendo of America to dress up as Donkey Kong and play the part at a mall in Culver City, California. Now he’s suing the company over a claim that the costume left him injured.
Oconitrillo says that he was ordered to keep the garb on even though it was “poorly ventilated and unreasonably and dangerously hot”. He also claims that the ordeal left him with permanent damage along with mental and emotional distress, but injuries were not specified.
As for Nintendo, a representative had only this to say: “We have nothing to announce on this topic.”
This situation sounds strangely similar to a similar occurrence from a few years ago. Actor Parker Mills attempted to sue Nintendo after he said he was denied breaks and was not provided with the required ice pack to cool him down as he talked to guests at the Los Angeles Zoo while wearing a Donkey Kong costume.
Activision still believes in toys-to-life, Skylanders the 11th most successful game franchise of all time

There’s been some talk as of late about the decline of the toys-to-life business. For the most part, amiibo is still doing quite well, and LEGO Dimensions entered the scene last year. But Disney Interactive recently closed entirely – marking the end of Disney Infinity – and Skylanders hasn’t been performing quite as well as it used to.
Despite this, Activision still appears to be very much on board with toys-to-life. The company announced Skylanders Imaginators today, reaffirming its commitment to the market.
Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg also told TIME that the publisher believes in the potential of toys-to-life. In his remarks, he mentioned that “Skylanders is now the 11th most successful game franchise of all time after just five years.”
When asked about the situation of Disney and concerns about the toys-to-life category, Hirshberg said:
I certainly can’t comment on Disney’s business, so that’s a good question to ask them, and they’ve obviously got good reasons for making the decision they did. What I will say is, we’ve said publicly that some of our more recent games haven’t met our expectations, and yet we’re still here making games, so we obviously still believe in the potential. We created the category, and Skylanders is now the 11th most successful game franchise of all time after just five years.

Harvest Moon: Skytree Village announced for 3DS
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 27 Comments
Update: We now have the official announcement with actual details.
First, an overview:
Times have changed in the land known as the Oasis of the Harvest Goddess. Many people used to live in Skytree Village, and the land was lush and green. However, the power of the Harvest Goddess gradually began to wane, and the land became parched and dry.
It’s up to you revive the seven Skytrees in order to give the Harvest Goddess her power back, and, in turn, bring life back to this desolate land!
Natsume says that Harvest Moon: Skytree Village will include new characters, but with some returning faces. It’ll also offer a new art style, new character models, and more.
When it comes to features, the game will have new crops and flowers, new fishing mechanics, and the option to play as a boy or a girl. Natsume is also packing in “user-friendly tutorials” so that “players will immediately be able to jump into the thick of things, customizing their farm by raising and lowering the land, creating rivers, ponds, and more.” That’s in addition to upgraded tools to “assist farmers in shaping the land more efficiently”.
We’ve posted the official announcement after the break.
Harvest Moon: Skytree Village is in development for 3DS, Natsume announced today. The title will be playable at E3 2016 later this month.
Natsume just shared the news on Twitter with the following message:
Introducing #HarvestMoon: Skytree Village, a new 3DS game that will be playable during @E3 2016! Watch for details~ pic.twitter.com/t5obc6XIMl
— Natsume Inc. (@Natsume_Inc) June 1, 2016
We don’t have any additional details at the moment, but we’ll let you know if/when we hear anything else.
