Playtonic published a pair of new updates for Yooka-Laylee today. We have some new music as well as the reveal of a new character.

First, have a listen to a challenge tune composed by David Wise below.

Players will hear the above tune during a section of the game which features Kartos. Yooka and Laylee will come across the minecart character several times, “and together they’ll hit the tracks in search of paper-shaped golden nuggets.”

Designer Kev Bayliss says of Kartos:

“In true Playtonic fashion, we wanted to make this character as fun as possible. He’s old school, so we wanted him to look old fashioned, rather than modern. He actually looks like a bad DIY project by myself, and I’m sure I’ve seen some of his body parts lying around in my shed at home! Yooka will be taking advantage of Kartos and his services, as he is for ‘hire’ at various stages in the game. And why not? After all, his slogan is ‘Mein Kart ist Ihre Kart’ after all!”

Nintendo has readied one more Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS trailer to highlight the DLC available in the two games. Watch it below.

This week, Famitsu has its second article on Story of Seasons: Good Friends of Three Villages.

First, here are some details about some of the characters in the game:

– Bride and groom candidates from Tsuyukusa Village are Kasumi and Yuzuki
– Carey and Brad are a married couple
– These two are in charge of the Garden Grill restaurant in Wes Town
– Marco is Brad’s grandfather
– He previously owned the restaurant
– Also loves fishing

There will be plenty to do in Westown, one of the three main areas in the game. The Postino post office lets you send mail to villagers and family in the city, a mining spot exists to nab ore, and fish.

Famitsu also talks about Power Circles. Players can place these objects in the field to give certain benefits to surrounding crops. Crops affected by Power Circles will turn blue when placed.

Power Circles can have a number of different effects. Famitsu mentions these three examples:

– Cactus: Raise crops’ sweetness
– Flower Wheelbarrow: Raise crops’ color
– Flower Fountain: Raise crops’ humidity

Part-time jobs are also something Famitsu mentions in its article. Players can take these on to earn more cash, and some even provide extra items and improve relationships. Interestingly, jobs will have different contents each time. You’ll take on activities like cutting down wood and delivering mail.

Picross 3D 2 came to Japan last October. There hasn’t been any news about the amiibo-supported puzzle game heading west, but a classification discovered by Nintendo Everything reveals plans for localization.

The USK, Germany’s ratings board, has added in a listing for “Picross 3D: Round 2”. Although it submitted towards the end of last year, the listing was only made public recently.

Nintendo has yet to officially announce Picross 3D: Round 2 for Europe. However, the listing suggests that news should be on the way soon. It’s also unclear if Nintendo has any plans for the game in North America.
