Atlus issued a new Stella Glow trailer today focusing on Song Magic. View it below, along with a description of the game’s mechanic.

Song Magic. It’s one of the core mechanics in Stella Glow – only 5 people on the planet know how to use Song Magic, and coincidentally, all of them are Witches. Unfortunately, one of those 5 is hell-bent on wiping out all of humanity. THANKS, HILDA.

But the good news is that as the protagonist Alto, you’ll be able to recruit Witches to join your party and as the Song Stone meter gradually fills during the game’s battles, you’ll be able to use tide-turning song magic to debuff or damage enemies, or heal allies! It all depends on which Witch you use and well, your own particular brand of playstyle since the strategy RPG offers many, many ways to win in battle.

But as we’ve talked about earlier, spending portions of the game’s Free Time to tune a Witch’s heart will unlock more song magic (and increase your bond with them!) check out more about song magic in the latest trailer!

The standard New 3DS finally launched in North America today, but if you’re looking for cover plates, the only option thus far has been importing. That could be changing very soon, however.

An image has appeared on the Nintendo online store showing that New 3DS cover plates will be sold to U.S. and Canadian customers. You can check out the page here, though it’s currently blank. We do at least know that cover plates like the one pictured above should be going on sale soon!

Some may be interested to know that the newly-launched 3DS NFC reader/writer accessory runs on two AA batteries. In the actual package, Nintendo has included these so you can begin using the peripheral right away. The 3DS NFC adapter doesn’t require a ton of power, so I imagine you won’t need to swap batteries too often!

LEGO Dimensions will be getting long term support from Warner Bros. Interactive and TT Games. Speaking with Eurogamer, associate producer Mark Warburton stated that there are plans to support the game with new add-ons until at least 2018.

He said:

“We have a three year plan at the moment and we’ve got no intention of stopping there. We’ve created the technology to the degree that we’re happy it meets our needs for the future. We’ve created the toy pad so that it shouldn’t need to be updated. And we can just create new level and character packs to keep expanding that.”

Warburton also commented on a couple of other topics. He spoke about the value of the Starter Pack as well as the Portal tie-in.

“You can 100 per cent the game and get the Platinum trophy just from the base set. People have been playing Lego games for 10 years now, and we shouldn’t be offering anything less than that.”

“You get the game, you get the toy pad, you get 200+ odd level bricks. We think we’re offering a lot of value with that and there’s a lot of gameplay there. There’s also a huge offering [of extra content] if you’re a fan and want to get into that we support that. But if you’re only a fan of particular thing you can only get that.”

“Jon [Burton, TT Games boss] is the biggest Portal fan you could imagine. We knew we wanted a huge cross-section of pop culture and we wanted something huge from the gaming industry too. And Valve are masters of storytelling. We managed to get Stephen Merchant back in to record his lines and JK Simmons fresh from his Oscar win.”
