Wii U and 3DS eShops seeing a bit of maintenance later today

The Wii U and 3DS eShops will be undergoing a small round of maintenance later today. Both digital shops will be unavailable at the following times:
– 8 AM PT – 9 AM PT
– 11 AM ET – 12 PM ET
– 4 PM in the UK – 5 PM in the UK
– 5 PM in Europe – 6 PM in Europe
It’s a little bit of inconvenience, but luckily the downtime shouldn’t last too long.

Animal Crossing amiibo cards already scarce in Japanese stores, Nintendo apologizes

Nintendo just launched the first set of Animal Crossing amiibo cards in Japan. Primarily, these are intended for use in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, which also just released in the territory.
amiibo supply has been an issue since Nintendo began shipping figures last year. Unfortunately, these new cards appear to be running into the same type of problem. Nintendo took to its Japanese Twitter account today to apologize for the scarcity of the Animal Crossing amiibo cards in stores. More stock is expected next week.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon New 3DS cover plate heading to Japan in September

The New 3DS is getting a cover plate based on Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. Today, the above model was announced for Japan, and it’s due out on September 17 for 2,000 yen. We’ll let you know if an announcement is eventually made for Europe.
Range Blaster and Inkbrush Nouveau coming to Splatoon today/tomorrow

Splatoon’s latest two weapons will soon be added to the game. The Range Blaster and Inkbrush Nouveau should be available later today in North America, and tomorrow in Europe.
Here’s when they’re set to arrive:
– 7 PM PT
– 10 PM ET
– 3 AM in the UK
– 4 AM in Europe
