Underground’s special laparoscopic controller costs €250
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 2 Comments
Back when we originally reported on Underground, we mentioned how the game could be used to help train surgeons. Two control methods were always planned: one with a standard scheme, and another using a special setup.
With Underground’s North American release on the way, Grendel Games is finally ready to begin selling a laparoscopic controller, which houses two Wii Remotes and two nunchuks. Pricing is set at €250 (or roughly £182, with another £11 for UK shipping).

Nintendo and DeNA presentation – translated Q&A now live
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Mobile, News, Switch | 1 Comment
Nintendo held a presentation with DeNA last week to announce a partnership between the two companies. Towards the end, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata and DeNA president Isao Moriyasu fielded questions from attendees. The entire Q&A is now live, and you can find it right here.
I won’t be breaking down the Q&A into various excerpts per usual, as we covered it quite a bit last week (in both video and summary form). There also isn’t a whole lot of information that we haven’t already covered. Still, it might be worth a read for some of you!

Rumor: Europe getting Puzzle & Dragons package on May 8, Splatoon on May 29, Yoshi’s Woolly World on June 26
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors, Wii U | 8 Comments
Update: Splatoon has now been changed to “May” on the site. Yoshi’s Woolly World and the Puzzle & Dragons package are listed for “2015”. Hmmm…
Nintendo UK’s press site may have outed launch dates for Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, Splatoon, and Yoshi’s Woolly World. According to the site, the three releases are slated for May 8, May 29, and June 26 respectively. Each one could very well be errors – or perhaps they’re spot on. It’s difficult to say at the moment.
For what it’s worth, World of Games (a retailer in Switzerland) lists Yoshi’s Woolly World for release on June 26 as well. You may also remember that when rumors about potential amiibo support for Splatoon surfaced, the “leak” came from a retailer that listed the title for May 29.
We’ll keep you updated if we hear anything concrete!

Latest 3DS update enables browser breakout clone in western New 3DS systems
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in New Nintendo 3DS, News | 1 Comment
When the New 3DS launched in Japan last year, it came with a small (but neat) mini-game accessible via the web browser. It’s essentially a breakout clone. After applying today’s 3DS update, people in overseas territories should be able to try out the game as well.
Simply boot up the browser and visit the “New Tab” page. Then tap out the rhythm of the first notes of the Super Mario Bros. level music, and “STAGE SELECT” will appear. It’s now possible to hit a URL made out of bricks.

3DS update version 9.6.0-24 out now – Home Menu Layout, amiibo settings for regular 3DS
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 4 Comments
Nintendo has prepared a new 3DS firmware update. Version 9.6.0-24, which is needed in order to access the eShop, can be downloaded now.
Today’s update does a few things. First, Nintendo has added a Home Menu Layout setting, which lets users save/load up to eight layouts of the Home Menu with different theme and software icon arrangements.
amiibo settings have also been added for regular 3DS owners (non-New 3DS). Nintendo reconfirms that a peripheral will be released later this year to make use of its figures.
Lastly, additional categories have been added to the Theme Shop under “View More”, and system stability/usability has been improved.
You can find today’s full update notes below.

Natsume hoping European A-Train: City Simulator release will happen close to the North American launch
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 1 Comment
Last week, Natsume announced that A-Train: City Simulator will be available in North America next month. But what about Europe? Fortunately, there’s good news to share on that front.
A-Train: City Simulator could very well be out in Europe around the same as North America, according to Natsume community manager CeeCee. The game was submitted for both regions at the same time, so Natsume hopes that “the releases will be as close together as we can make them.”

Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 1 Comment
Elliot Quest developer Luis Zuno has expressed interest in bringing the game to 3DS.
Zuno participated in a Reddit AMA today, and answered several questions from fans. When asked about a possible 3DS version, Zuno said he “would love that”, though he would need to talk with PlayEveryWare – the company that ported Elliot Quest to Wii U – to determine “if it would doable and worthy.”
Elliot Quest launched on the Wii U this past Thursday. The title is coming to Europe on April 16. You can find Zuno’s full Reddit AMA here.
