The Saints Row franchise is seeing a revitalization of sorts. We know that a Switch version of Saints Row: The Third launches this month, and Deadline is now reporting that a movie based on the series is on the way.

Gary Gray, who directed Straight Outta Compton and Men in Black: International, will be heading up the new Saints Row film. Mortal Kombat reboot writer Greg Russo will be penning the script.

Fenix Studios, Koch Media and Occupant Entertainment are all involved with the project. Gary Glushon is overseeing development for Fenix Studios. Felipe Marino and Joe Neurauter are acting as producers for Occupant with Stefan Kapelari and Moritz Peters are producing for Koch Films.

Paramount Pictures has posted the very first trailer for the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog movie. Have a look at the video below.

The Sonic The Hedgehog movie hits theaters this November.

Super Mario 64 doesn’t exactly have a whole lot of voice acting, but there is one line that has caught on with fans over the years. That’s largely in part because no one has been able to say for certain what Mario actually says. Of course, we’re referring to his fight with Bowser – specifically when Mario spins the Koopa King around and throws him.

Charles Martinet, who voices Mario, has finally cleared up the situation. After one fan asked about the line on Twitter, Martinet confirmed that the character says, “So long kinga Bowser!”

Featuring Mr. Mime in Pokemon: Detective Pikachu was no easy task. It involved the use of a real mime, approval from the president of The Pokemon Company, and more over a two-year span.

Speaking about why Mr. Mime was a desirable character for the movie in the first place, director Rob Letterman explained to IGN:

My Nintendo is celebrating the launch of BoxBoy! + BoxGirl! with a couple of new rewards. Members can use their points on a May calendar and a new wallpaper.

If you’re interested, both of these rewards can be found on My Nintendo here. They require 50 Platinum Points respectively.

Smash 64

Shmuplations has translated an interview with Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai. But rather than a recently-published interview, the site went back into the archives of Nice Games magazine from 1999, in which Sakurai discussed the original N64 game and more.

There are a few interesting comments here, such as talk about the original prototypes for Smash Bros. and how it could have been an action-adventure game. Sakurai also talked about having to overcome the perception that it would be “cheap”, and being upset with some of the overseas reviews.

A new Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster reward has been added to My Nintendo in Europe. For 50 Platinum Points, you can obtain a printable reversible cover. Check out the alternative design above.

Those who are interested in the reversible cover can redeem their points for it here.

GameStop has finally joined other retailers in offering pre-orders for the next wave of Smash Bros. amiibo. Pichu, Isabelle, and Pokemon Trainer are now live on the retailer’s site here. A bundle is also available featuring all three.

Pichu, Isabelle, and Pokemon Trainer release on July 26.

This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s video, Kit and Krysta show off brand new footage of the Starlink: Battle for Atlas Crimson Moon content. Check out the full episode below.
