It’s that time of the year once again. April Fools’ Day starts tomorrow, though it’s already April 1 in Japan – meaning the fake announcements, practical jokes, and more have started.

We’ll be keeping track of the notable Nintendo-related April Fools’ Day jokes below. We’d also advise taking caution with any uncertain announcements you come across.

Kotaku was recently about to conduct an email interview with the Kirby development team. As part of this, the site was able to ask about a different kind of topic – that being Kirby’s feet.

It looks like Burger King will be teaming up with the Pokemon: Detective Pikachu movie for a new set of toys. Six different designs have leaked online, including Detective Pikachu, Mewtwo, Psyduck, Loudred, Arcanine, and Bulbasaur. The Burger King crown has also been updated to tie in with the film.

Just a few days before E3 2019 begins, Nintendo will be hosting two new tournaments. The company announced today that the Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Splatoon 2 World Championships 2019 are set for June 8 in Los Angeles, California. Teams from North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia/New Zealand will be represented.
