Netflix announces new Castlevania series featuring Richter Belmont

Following up on its Castlevania animated series, Netflix has announced a new spin-off show for the franchise.
The upcoming project will star Richter Belmont (a descendent of Sypha and Trevor) and Maria Renard. It’ll be set in 1792 France during the French Revolution.
Netflix announced the news as part of its “Geeked Week”. No further information has been shared at this time.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin amiibo pre-orders open on the UK My Nintendo Store

The UK My Nintendo Store has opened up pre-orders for the Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin amiibo. Tsukino, Razewing Ratha, and Ena are all live here.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, along with the new amiibo, launch on July 9.

K.K. Slider joining the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Build-A-Bear collection

Build-A-Bear kicked off its Animal Crossing: New Horizons collection last month. Only Tom Nook and Isabelle were initially included, but just as expected, the line is expanding.
Revealed today is that K.K. Slider will be offered in plush form. We don’t have all of the details just yet, but he’ll come with his signature guitar.
Build-A-Bear will begin taking orders tomorrow, June 10. It’ll be up for those in the US here and those in the UK here.
My Nintendo adds DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power drawstring bag in North America

My Nintendo has a new physical reward up based on the recently-released DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power. For 500 Platinum Points, members can get their hands on a themed drawstring bag.
The item features Supergirl, Wonder Woman, and Batgirl. On the back, there’s a “Fighting for Justice” graphic. We have additional photos below.
Super Nintendo World reopens at Universal Studios Japan

Universal Studios Japan, including Super Nintendo World, recently closed due to a State of Emergency related to the coronavirus pandemic. After just over a month, the theme park is open to the public once more.
As noted in the announcement, Universal Studios Japan “will operate at a reduced capacity on weekdays only until further notice.” It further states that the location “will continue to implement enhanced health and safety protocols and capacity control measures while Osaka Prefecture remains under a State of Emergency and thereafter.” Guests will be encouraged to leave at varied times to avoid congestion, restaurants now have indoor dining dividers, and all team members other than essential operational team members will continue to work from home.
Universal Studios Japan closed on April 25. It fully reopened on June 1.

My Nintendo adds DC Super Hero Girls and Mario Golf: Super Rush media rewards in North America

Yuji Naka officially confirms that he’s left Square Enix, not ruling out retirement

News started to make the rounds yesterday that Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka had possibly left Square Enix. His first and only project with the company was Balan Wonderworld, which hit Switch earlier this year.
Naka has since addressed the situation with a message on Twitter. Aside from officially confirming that he left Square Enix at the end of April, Naka also noted that he’s considering retirement.
