NHK is reporting that a fire broke out earlier today at Nintendo’s development headquarters in Kyoto. Thankfully, the situation is under control and there were no serious injuries.
The fire is said to have started around 1 PM. Although employees extinguished the flames, eight fire engines were dispatched to the scene. Some of the desks and chairs in the room on the third floor were burned, but again, all employees are safe.
The police and fire departments have started to investigate the cause of the fire. It’s thought that it may have started via a device that was being charged.
