Team Cherry has prepared a brand new trailer for Hollow Knight, which is on track for Wii U. Find the video below.

Imagos Softworks is teaming up with Playism to bring Starr Mazer to new platforms. Among the lineup are brand new Wii U and 3DS versions.

Starr Mazer features a mix of point-and-click and shooting gameplay. If you haven’t heard of the title before, this overview should clue you in:

Starr Mazer is a modernized fusion of 2 classic genres: The point-and-click (PNC) adventure and horizontal scrolling shoot ’em up (SHMUP). The game is highly replayable as both the PNC story and SHMUP levels of each playthrough are procedurally generated and significantly different each time. In this regard it is different from traditional PNC Adventures, which were linear in their storytelling and did not yield anything new on subsequent playthroughs.

The narrative progression of each playthrough uses Open-Middled Gameplay (OMG!) in that the story modules kick off predictably and the endings are varied and satisfying, but what happens in between is up to the predetermination of the story creation algorithm as well as the choices the player makes, performance in the SHMUP segments and a host of other environmental / chronological / enigmatic variables.

Though procedural, both the PNC and SHMUP segments of Starr Mazer are highly crafted to provide an engaging, beautiful, exciting and replayable experience. Great care has been put into the modular PNC story engine and SHMUP level assembly.

We also have the following trailer for the game:

Splatoon’s 15th Japanese Splatfest just wrapped up a little while ago. The results are now in, which were extremely close.

Splatoon’s new Splatfest was run in partnership with Meiji, with players asked to choose one of two sides: Kinoko no Yama (Mountain of Mushrooms) or Takenoko no Sato (Bamboo Shoot Village). Thanks to Takenoko no Sato’s popularity (63 percent), that side squeaked out a win despite having a slightly lower percentage of wins. The final score was 351 points for Takenoko no Sato and 349 points for Kinoko no Yama.

Warner Bros. is still pushing forward with toys-to-life. Just recently, the company announced a whole bunch of content coming to LEGO Dimensions, including Sonic, Adventure Time, and more.

WB Games president David Haddad said of the company’s commitment to toys-to-life:

“We still view [toys to life] as a large and important category for us to participate in. We still view it, even though there are changes to the structure of the industry, as a very large category.”

Regarding year two of LEGO Dimensions, Haddad mentioned that Warner Bros. is “staying away from dead-ends and barriers.” Consumers won’t need to pick up a new Starter Pack, and all of the new packs coming out are compatible with the original game.
