Update: There is now a picture of the actual amiibo, seen now as the feature image and in the gallery.

Capcom announced that Monster Hunter Stories, the 3DS Monster Hunter spinoff, will be releasing in Japan on October 8th. Also, there will be three brand-new amiibo launched alongside the game. Two of these are of the protagonist riding the One-Eyed Rathalos, with one amiibo for each gender, while the third is of the player’s partner, Nabiru. These amiibo will grant players unique monsters in-game. Furthermore, Capcom plans to release a second set of amiibo after release. There are also two special costumes for Nabiru, with a Rathalos costume coming in limited versions of the game, and a Dinovaldo costume unlocked by having Monster Hunter Generations save data on your 3DS. This save data will also unlock a one-hand sword for the protagonist.

But that’s not all! Capcom also showed off two costumes, one for the protagonist based on popular musician DAIGO, and the other a costume for Nabiru based on Sanrio character Pompomporin. You can see pictures of all this content below.

The official site will also update on June 2nd, so there may be more new information to look forward to in the future. There is still no word on a western release.

Capcom still has some information to share on Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice. In today’s update, the company touches on the “Revisualization” system, returning from Dual Destinies.

Here’s the breakdown:

– When the courtroom battle reaches its final stage and it seems you need another step to fully grasp hold of the truth, a “Revisualization” is triggered to reach a decisive conclusion
– You’re allowed to review the facts revealed in the court up until that point
– Seek out a route that leads to the truth while organizing events
– Select the correct route using logical reasoning
– It’s possible to review again any number of times to reach the truth if you make an error

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice launches on June 9 in Japan and this September in the west.

Miitomo’s success in terms of downloads has been well documented at this point. However, when it comes to its staying power, the app has been on a decline. That might have been at least somewhat expected, but SurveyMonkey has taken a deeper look at the situation.

SurveyMonkey compared Miitomo to Candy Crush Jelly Saga and Clash Royale, two titles from giant mobile developers King and Supercell respectively. Miitomo stacks up favorably when it came to download performance, but the app “struggled to keep users interested.”

SurveyMonkey writes in its report:

In Miitomo’s case, this lower-than-peers engagement translates into higher churn. The game’s weekly churn more than 50% means that over half of the users of Miitomo on a given week won’t come back and play it again the following week. For some apps that don’t need frequent use this isnt a problem, but for games like Miitomo that are designed for frequent use, churn at this level foreshadows a quick decline.

Low engagement and high churn cause a steady decline in active users for Miitomo. When comparing to the other games it’s not necessarily the lower peak weekly-active users (WAU) that’s of concern, but the fact that Miitomo drops off much more rapidly. Clash Royale’s lowest value is just 22% from its peak, Candy Crush Jelly’s is 32% from its peak, but Miitomo WAU is 74% lower than its peak value in a much shorter timespan.

What has your experience been like with Miitomo? Are you still using the app? Or are you pretty much done with it at this point?
