Splatoon Twitter image shows Octoling without goggles
Posted on 9 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in Screenshots, Wii U | 9 Comments
The Japanese Splatoon Twitter account posted the image seen above today. It might not seem like anything special at first glance – in fact, the exact image has already been posted by them once before, with one key difference. Today’s image shows an Octoling not wearing any goggles.
Of course this likely means nothing in the grand scheme of things and it might just be a neat piece of concept artwork. However, we do know that Splatoon is getting a major content patch next month and playable Octolings would certainly be an exciting feature.

Japanese Devil’s Third website reveals microtransactions, file size and more
Posted on 9 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in News, Wii U | 22 Comments
The official Japanese website for Devil’s Third was launched recently and it revealed some new details about the game.
First of all, you will need quite a bit of space if you plan on downloading the game as it takes up 16.4GB. Each Wii U user gets his own save file, which takes up 16 MB. You can use either the Gamepad or a Wii U Pro Controller to play the game – other control options aren’t supported.
Finally, the website confirms that microtransactions will be in the game. You can buy “Golden Eggs” with actual currency, which you can trade for new weapons and armor or for in-game currency.
Retailer lists Mewtwo amiibo for release on October 23
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo | 1 Comment
Raru, a retailer in South Africa, has listed the Mewtwo amiibo for release on October 23. Nintendo has naturally not confirmed such a date.
We tend to be cautious when it comes to retailer listings, but Raru’s listing is interesting. You may recall that they leaked the Splatoon amiibo and game’s launch date before the information was announced. This doesn’t necessarily confirm that the Mewtwo date is accurate, but it may be worth paying attention to.
Thanks to Jake for the tip.

New ProCube controller well-received at EVO 2015
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 8 Comments
Earlier this month, Hyperkin revealed a new GameCube-style controller known as the “ProCube”. The plan is have it work with all games that support the Pro Controller on Wii U.
Hyperkin ended up showcasing “handmade” prototypes of the ProCube at EVO 2015, and gathered feedback from gamers. There’s good news to report: the controller was very well received.
Hyperkin product manager Chris Gallizzi told GamesBeat:
“The results are very positive. Every single person loved how comfortable the controller is. [Evo attendees] commented on how they love the fact that it will work on all pro-controller supported games. The one thing that stood out to all survey takers was the bumpers and triggers. Since they are digital, not analog, they feel as if they get a more immediate response then the original GameCube controller.”
When the ProCube was first unveiled, Hyperkin said the controller would move into production depending on how it was received. There’s a high chance then that the product will eventually be sold on the market.

Off-screen Luigi’s Mansion Arcade footage, details about the new bomb item
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Videos | 5 Comments
Footage has been uploaded to YouTube showing Luigi’s Mansion Arcade, which recently came to Japan. We’ve posted the video below.
In the footage, you can see the new bomb item. This can be thrown at shielded Greenies to break their defense and make them immediately susceptible to capture. It’s a bit different compared to how things were handled in Dark Moon, since Luigi usually needed to reveal them using the Dark Light first, weave his way behind it, flash it with the strobe light to make the Greenie drop its armor, and then repeat flash it again to activate the capture sequence.
