Hot on the heels of the Monster Hunter X announcement over the weekend, Famitsu shares more details about the new 3DS game in its latest issue.

Monster Hunter X features 14 weapon classes. Players will be able to choose from the Great Sword, Long Sword, Sword and Shield, Dual Blades, Lance, Gunlance, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Switch Axe, Charge Blade, Insect Glaive, Bow, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun.

Monster Hunter X will also include four main monsters, Famitsu states. Capcom is featuring a Brute Wyvern, a Flying Wyvern, a Leviathan, and a Fanged Beast.

Continuing on the topic of numbers, there are four Hunting Styles for all weapons, and you choose one of them. Here’s a breakdown of each:

A new costume based on the Ika Musume (Squid Girl) manga is coming to Splatoon. In August, a free update with the DLC will be released.

This announcement only pertains to Japan at present. We’ll let you know if we hear anything for the west.

The first collaboration between Splatoon and Ika Musume came in the form of various images. We shared one of those at the top of this post, though you can find the other two here.

Pac-Attack is launching on the North American Wii U eShop as the latest Virtual Console title, Nintendo’s website confirms. The classic game will be priced at $7.99.

Here’s a brief overview:

Pac-Man makes a rare appearance outside of a maze environment in Pac-Attack, a fun and quirky puzzle game! This unique entry in the genre puts its own twist on established conventions and adds one of gaming’s most iconic characters to the mix. The goal is simple: keep your screen clear of falling blocks and ghosts. You can clear blocks by lining them up horizontally, causing them to disappear. Clearing the ghosts, though, requires the help of a hungry Pac-Man (who just happens to swing by every so often for a snack). It’s up to you to get all of the ghosts lined up for him, because Pac-Man will keep eating them until he is stopped by a block or he runs out of ghosts. In addition, his range of movement on the playing field is limited to horizontal or downward—thus adding further strategy. There are three game modes to choose from: 1P Normal, 2P Versus, and the challenging 1P Puzzle.

If the 65-minute playthrough of Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven we posted today wasn’t enough, there’s now another video below with even more footage. The game itself launched in North America yesterday, so you can get your hands on it now!

“PixelCollie” has created a new, custom amiibo based on Link’s appearance from Zelda Wii U’s E3 2014 teaser trailer. The figure features Link blue tunic, ponytail, and special bow.

PixelCollie explained how the project came together over on DeviantArt:

Modifying the figure itself was simple enough, all I had to do was remove his sword, shield and sheath, bend his arms into place and paint his tunic. I also removed his cap and sculpted his hair plus his little ponytail. The bow is where I had the most trouble. I can’t even tell you how many times I reglued and reglued it to try to make it stay in place… After like a week of tweaking it a million times, I FINALLY got it secure enough and set in place. I have to say though, the stress was totally worth it. The fun I had making this definetely outweights the difficulty. The bow itself is made from two master swords that were bent to make the base, and then I used clay to sculpt the details (the clay I used was Super Sculpey if anyone is wondering). The arrow is also made from clay + a piece of copper wire. I also removed the yellow pole thingy and replaced it with some rocks on the stand to hold him up. Oh, and I used some beige sewing thread for the drawstring and on the arrow.

This has to be right up there as one of the more impressive custom amiibo. A lot of work certainly went into this one!
