Mario Happy Meal toys are a hot commodity in South Korea

The Mario Happy Meal toys at McDonalds appear to be a hot commodity in South Korea. With the second wave of toys out today, photos have been snapped of huge lines forming – some of which even stretched outside or up to the second floor.
As for why people are so interested in the toys, people are apparently trying to make money by selling them online. This has led some Korean websites to ban members for thirty days should they attempt to resell the Mario Happy Meal toys.

Federal appeals court confirms Nintendo win against patent troll in case involving Wii

In 2010, Triton Tech filed a lawsuit against Nintendo, claiming that the Wii Remote controller infringed one of the company’s patents. But on Friday, a federal appeals court asserted that the suit was invalid.
Judge Richard A. Jones of the Seattle district court dismissed the lawsuit once before after finding that the patent did not adequately describe a complete invention, making it invalid. The June 13 federal appeals court ruling upheld that previous dismissal.
Richard Medway, Nintendo of America’s deputy general counsel, said in a statement:
“We are very pleased with this result. Nintendo has a long tradition of developing unique and innovative products, while respecting the intellectual property rights of others. Nintendo continues to aggressively defend itself against patent trolls. After many years of litigation, the decision today reflects an appropriate resolution of this case.”

Splatoon producer likens the game’s paint shooting to vandalism

Shooting paint in Splatoon is “sort of like vandalism”, producer Hisashi Nogami told Polygon.
He said:
“Just talking about shooting paint, it’s sort of like vandalism. If we were all in this room and someone came in and said OK guys make this room as messy as you want, you’d probably get really happy and like, destroy things! I think people still have that child-like feeling of wanting to make a mess, wanting to get dirty. I think they would be able to enjoy this game. And I think people have that no matter how old they get.”

Courtesy of the latest Shonen Jump, a few screenshots and art pieces of Final Fantasy Explorers have emerged giving us a taste of what’s to come. Additionally, the 4 of the jobs that are available in the game have been outlined:
Knight – Well-balanced in offense and defense. In addition to their offensive capabilities have specialised skills that can be used for guarding
Monk – All about physical attacks similar to past games, Monks rush down enemies with barrages of attacks, with low defensive and high health
Black Mage – Offensive magic experts, can attack enemies from a long range. Presumably ‘glass cannon’ type characters i.e. high damage but fairly low defensive options
White Mage – Heals and powers up allies
