Marvelous made Monster Hunter Stories
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 10 Comments
Believe it or not, Monster Hunter Stories wasn’t made by Capcom. Instead, it was actually Marvelous who handled it for the most part. Capcom may have been on board for some creative aspects – and publishing of course – but it was Marvelous who put the project together.
Monster Hunter Stories’ credits also show that Ken Awata directed the game. We unfortunately don’t know much about his history, aside from the fact that he was involved with games such as The Last Story and Blue Dragon.

Monster Hunter XX – more details about the name, new monsters, and more
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Last week, Famitsu provided its first extensive report on Monster Hunter XX. The magazine’s coverage included an interview with some of the game’s developers.
The production team structure is as follows: Ryozo Tsujimoto is still producing the entire series, and Shintaro Kojima is the main producer just like with the previous title. However, this time the director is Daisuke Ichihara, who used to work as a planner on Monster Hunter Generations and supervised monster productions. Takuro Hiraoka, who was also part of the planning team, is the main planner on XX. Yasunori Ichinose, as the director for Monster Hunter Generations, will act as backup, supervising the concept and follow-up on the production so that he can make sure there will be a proper evolution from the last game.

GameStop’s Black Friday 2016 deals
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 4 Comments
Black Friday 2016 deals were already made known this week at retailers including Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and Toys “R” Us. Thanks to BFAds, images showing GameStop’s offerings are now available.
Despite GameStop having the largest ad dedicated to Black Friday, at least in terms of Nintendo titles, there isn’t a whole lot here. There’s pretty much nothing for Wii U, and little for 3DS. The few highlights including $10 off Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice and SEGA 3D Classics Collection for $20.
If you’d like to take a closer look at the Nintendo-related items GameStop is featuring during Black Friday, hit up the gallery below.

Terraria 3DS version 1.04 submitted to Nintendo, details – expanded worlds on New 3DS and more
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS, News | 1 Comment
The next update for Terria on 3DS is on the way, and it’s quite substantial.
As we heard about before, expanded worlds are coming to players on New 3DS. The team also fixed a number of issues/bugs and also brought it more in line with the PC version.
Here’s the full lowdown:
The 1.04 update is in submission with Nintendo. We’re hoping to be able to release the update globally by the end of November, but until the update clears Nintendo’s checks we won’t be in a position to project a date. The focus of the work for the milestone was stability and being able to offer Expanded Worlds to New 3DS owners, as we have previously communicated.
The stability round was obviously priority number one to those of you having issues. In our own testing we found the game to be almost always stable, but Terraria is a game that everyone plays differently and a minority of you were experiencing crash issues that were blighting your experience. We’ve worked very hard to put in global fixes for these kinds of issues, and along the way encountered some very odd edge cases. Rather than try and explain every issue, we’ve pulled out a few from a long list that you might find interesting:

Two new Ultra Beasts, one new Pokemon and special starter Z-Moves revealed via CoroCoro
Posted on 8 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in 3DS, News | 1 Comment
The release of Pokemon Sun & Moon is almost upon us and Nintendo has seemingly stopped with the regular video releases that reveal new Pokemon. However, CoroCoro magazine apparently isn’t stopping anytime soon. Scans of its latest issue have leaked today, and they show two new Ultra Beasts, one new Pokemon and exclusive Z-Moves for the starter Pokemon.
Interestingly, the names / numbers of the Ultra Beasts are not revealed – however, it seems like these Ultra Beasts might be version exclusives, based on the layout of the magazine page and their colors. CoroCoro also states that the new Pokemon is quite a mystery, and wonders how it is related to Solgaleo and Lunala. Decidueye’s unique Z-Move is called “Shadow Arrows Strike” in Japan, while Incineroar’s is called “Hyper Dark Crusher”.
More and clearer scans will likely pop up soon; we will keep you updated.
