Update (10/7): Bumped to the top. The dream of more characters might be dead. Nintendo has updated the website, and it now says three characters instead of five.

Original (10/6): Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash’s full site has gone live. Access it here.

On the page, Nintendo mentions that the game “features five new characters alongside returning fan favorites.” Based on what we’ve previously seen, we know of three entirely new roster additions. That should mean there are two others we don’t know about currently.

Finally, we’ve rounded up the various clips from Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash’s site. Find five minutes of footage below (warning: shows some of the secret characters, though I suppose they really aren’t at this point).

Earlier today, Nintendo World in New York held a launch event for Yo-kai Watch. Photos of the event have since been made available, which you can find below. Photo descriptions are also included.

The latest look at Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash is an online match featuring amiibo. Check it out below.

Last week, Nintendo kicked off Splatoon’s seventh Splatfest in North America and Japan. The same event has now gone live in Europe, but with a different topic.

The two sides battling it out this time around are zombies and ghosts. Players will have until 19:00 CET / 18:00 GMT tomorrow to participate. Once the event finishes, we’ll have the results shortly after.

The Play Nintendo YouTube page has kicked off a new Yoshi’s Woolly World “Adventure Guide”. The third episode, published today, can be seen below.

Poncho saw its initial launch on platforms like Steam a few days ago. While we’re still waiting on the Wii U eShop release, we can at least see what the final product looks like in the video below.

Yuji Naka has created a few titles at Prope, including Ivy the Kiwi? and Rodea: The Sky Soldier. Both have been standalone games, but that doesn’t mean Naka isn’t interested in making sequels – quite the opposite actually.

Speaking with Hardcore Gamer, Naka expressed interest in returning to Ivy the Kiwi? if given the opportunity. The same also goes for Rodea. At the same time, he’s also thinking about completely new ideas.

Naka said:

“Ivy the Kiwi and Rodea are two titles that have a special part in my heart, so I would love to try creating sequels if I am given the opportunity. I constantly have ideas for new titles. Though I cannot say them here, please look forward to the day I can show them to the public.”

Naka further expressed interest in revisiting Rodea when asked if he’d like to see a comic series based on the game:

“If I am given the opportunity, I would love to have Rodea as a comic book series. I also personally want to see more of Rodea’s adventures.”

Activision released The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure earlier this week. Check out the video below for a lengthy look at the game.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon isn’t the only new game that can be pre-loaded on the North American eShop. On Wii U, it’s now possible to pre-load Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash.

Nintendo will be bringing out its latest sports title on November 20. It comes with the final price point of $49.99.

Temple of Yog is a game about human sacrifice, it’s a tightly controlling roguelike temple crawler, and it just might be the sleeper hit of the fall for the Wii U eShop. I had a chance to play the game and talk with lead designer Cody Diefenthaler at IndieCade Festival 2015.

Temple of Yog is, at its core, a top-down dungeon crawler with a colorful and detailed pixel art style. The controls are relatively simple – left stick to move, right stick to aim and attack. But things get interesting when you begin to encounter the multiple interconnected systems that add a tremendous amount of gameplay potential to the experience.
