Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Nintendo is returning to GDC with a brand new session. During the panel, producer Hisashi Nogami and director Aya Kyogoku will discuss the creation of the Switch game.

Here’s some additional information about the event:

WayForward’s new Switch exclusive Vitamin Connection is now available on Switch. Have a look at the official launch trailer below.

Bandai Namco has issued a new gameplay trailer for Kefla’s addition to Dragon Ball FighterZ. Get a look at the video below.

Nintendo has passed along a new batch of screenshots and art for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Have a look at the latest images below.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons doesn’t support Nintendo Switch Online cloud saves as we’ve traditionally seen. However, Nintendo has said that if your Switch gets damaged or lost, there will be a way to recover save data.

More information will be shared later, and the service will be available sometime after launch. However, we do have an interesting tidbit from today’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct. According to some fine print included in the presentation, “Nintendo Switch Online members can only have save data recovered one time due to loss or damage of system.”

Nintendo has put out an announcement recapping all of the news from the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct. We have that below, along with the full presentation for those that missed it.

Nintendo has provided new information about how amiibo works in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Figures and cards are both supported. When scanning either one, that character will appear in-game. There’s also Photopia where you can place models and have photoshoots.

It sounds like not every amiibo will be supported initially, as Nintendo said it will support additional characters in the future.

Free updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons are planned, Nintendo has announced.

Most of the specifics have yet to be shared. But during today’s Nintendo Direct, it was teased that players can expect seasonal events with guests and more.

The first update introducing a special Bunny Day event in April will be available on March 20.

During today’s Nintendo Direct, Animal Crossing: New Horizons outlined support for the Nintendo Switch Online app.

Known as “NookLink”, players will be able to scan QR code patterns of custom designs and more. You’ll be able to scan QR codes from Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. Chatting with friends online is also supported.

The service will go live shortly after Animal Crossing: New Horizons launches.
