Switch version 6.0.0 launches next week, will no longer be able to unlink Nintendo Account from Switch user

Although it was entirely expected, Nintendo has confirmed that Switch version 6.0.0 is launching next week. The latest firmware will go live during the evening of September 18 in North America and September 19 during the very early hours in Europe. Once the update is released, the eShop will be down for maintenance.
Nintendo says that after the system update is installed, you will no longer be able to unlock your Nintendo Account from your Nintendo Switch user. Below are the full details:

Nintendo Switch Online launches September 18 / September 19

A release date has finally been given for Nintendo Switch Online. The service starts September 18 in North America and September 19, Nintendo has announced.
Switch owners will be able to sign-up for a 7-day free trial from the eShop at launch.
More details about the service will be shared during tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct.
Nintendo announces September 2018 Nintendo Direct rescheduled for tomorrow

As has been rumored over the past week, the September 2018 Nintendo Direct will now air tomorrow. The 35-minute presentation was originally scheduled for last Thursday, but was delayed following an earthquake in Japan.

Nintendo partners with the Tailgate Tour to bring Smash Bros. Ultimate to colleges this fall

Nintendo has announced a partnership with Wendy’s College Tailgate Tour to bring Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to college campuses across the United States this fall. Fans will be able to play the upcoming release with gameplay stations and a large LED screen.
